Excellent recommendations. I don't know much about crypto and have a dismal record in investing, anywhere. But I am courteous :) That's what engagement is all about. If someone says hello to you, say hello back. That's what we do in the physical world. In the Hive universe, a comment on your post warrants acknowledgement. The only time I ignore a comment is when it is obvious spam...no relationship to the post at all.
As for communities: sometimes I wonder where I should post a blog. I want to write about something but it may not fit into community guidelines. There are a couple of communities here, though that invite writers to post on just about any subject. However, that doesn't mean someone will read the post, or enjoy it:)
There is another important aspect to being here. When we have established a footing on the platform, no matter how modest, it is only decent to extend a hand to those who are starting out. Plus, that's how Hive survives. New bloggers staying long enough to have a stake.
Well, that's my two cents. Your post resonated with me because it is so practical and chuck full of useful advice for new bloggers.
Thank you, @agmoore! I really appreciate your feedback on my post.
You brought up some very important points in your comment, and I wanted to highlight them as well. I think being courteous is a trait that many people struggle to maintain when interacting on the internet, which makes me wonder—why is that? Why are we generally more courteous in person than online (especially on Web2 platforms)?
This is one of the things that sets Hive (Web3) apart from mainstream (Web2) social media apps. Hive users are generally more courteous and generous with their compliments. While I can't always be sure how authentic or genuine it is, I’d much rather interact with people who have an optimistic outlook than those who are overly focused on negativity and hatred.
That’s why I prefer spending my time here on Hive rather than anywhere else on the internet. 😊
Moreover, Hive is generally more welcoming to new users than other platforms (at least in my experience). So, if someone is looking to start their content creation journey—or even begin a side career—Hive is a great place to start. Who knows? It might even become a lifelong hobby!
