you do need to understand how radio waves work to enjoy radio. its as simple as driving under a freeway overpass or a tunnel

if you dont know you cant get reception in a cave you cant get a signal

so EVERYONE does have an understanding of radio BECAUSE they ALL know about shitty signals etc
