Chaos Legion – Crack a Pack #1

in Perpetuals3 years ago (edited)

One exercise we've been doing on the guild's discord server is "crack a pack", where I share one opened Chaos Legion pack, and the first to pick a card gets to choose which one to discuss. To make it a a bit different here on PeakD, anyone can choose a card and leave a comment with their review of the card. You don't need to be a guild member to participate in this discussion, neither in the #Splinterlands nor in the #Perpetuals community – I will however encourage guild members to participate!

Now let's crack Chaos Legion pack #1!

Make the review as short or long as you like. It might for instance include, but is not limited to, your evaluation of one or more of the following:

  • Strongest leagues and levels for the card
  • Ideal mana cap range for the card
  • Notable summoners it combos with
  • Notable monsters it combos with
  • Particularly strong rulesets for the card
  • Particularly weak rulesets for the card
  • Replay of match where the card is used
  • Current price
  • Lore & Art

If you are discussing the card at a particular level, I suggest listing the stats of the card at the given level(s) as well, such as:

Card NameLevelBcxAttackSpeedArmorHealthAbilities
Radiated Brute61003305Reach, Enrage

Alternatively you can just include an image of the stat block, like this:

For the overall rating I like to do the following (you don't need to follow this, or give it a rating at all):

  1. Extremely narrow or useless
  2. Decent niche card
  3. Solid archetype Staple
  4. Good in multiple archetypes
  5. Bomb in multiple archetypes

I will follow up by posting my own review of one of the cards in a new post, based on the comments and feedback, as well as my own evaluation.

Zoda, you are the man! I love your reviews of cards! I am nowhere near as detail obsessed as you! With that being said I will give my lame review of the card. lol.

Prior to level 6, I don't think this card is very good unless we are in the equalizer ruleset(equal health-(hope i got that right)).

Once he gets enrage I feel like this card becomes a lot stronger. So GOLD and above is the only time I would consider using Radiated Brute. Obviously since he is a melee guy, a good summoner to pair him with is Malric Inferno or Daria - But also in the "wild" league can pair him with Beetle Queen as well for the heal on the front tank with the additional attack(inspire)

That's my thought process behind the card. I am sure I missing a lot of stuff. But that's why I have you to give me the real breakdown of the card. lol.

Thanks! I'll try to do your expectations justice. 😛 I certainly agree that brute is not very impressive looking, especially before gold. Queen Beetle is nice alternative. Had forgotten that it gives inspire.

On a side note, Radiated Brute was optional. Can also choose other cards from the pack. 🙂

I love Mycelic Morphoid, when he gets thorns at level three. Especially powerful in conjunction with Queen Mycelias armor buff and amplify! So much value for as little as one mana!

Yup, certainly a lot of value for one mana, as long as you're not on Mylor! ;)

Radiated Brute with the new fire summoner Tarsa is a strong combo! Once he get's enrage he can be a great beat down card and can help counter a Yodin deck.

Yeah, that is the most natural combo in modern or with the CL cards for sure!
