Hello, film lovers!
I hope you are all well. Today I want to talk to you about one of my favourite horror films, which I saw many years ago and watch again from time to time. It should be noted that it is more of a horror comedy and social satire that is very funny in a "certain sense." Although there are no jokes as such, the way everything unfolds makes you laugh, even with all the blood, because yes, it is a very bloody film. This film is called: Wedding Nightmare.
As I said, it is a horror comedy and satire where a bride on her wedding night must survive a deadly hunt organised as part of a 'family tradition' by her husband's family. The story follows Grace, who marries Alex Le Domas, a young man who for many years lived away from his family, a very wealthy and eccentric family who own a board game empire. When she marries Alex, his family informs her that they have a tradition: every time a new member joins the family, they must participate in a game on their wedding night.
To choose the game, Grace has to draw a card; Grace draws "hide and seek", although she laughs at what she drew, assuming that the game is about hide and seek. Soon, the faces of Alex's family change when they realise what they have to do. Thus, the game begins: while Grace naively hides, Alex's family begins to pull out weapons such as guns, crossbows, and knives, because according to the card Grace drew, they must kill her; otherwise, they will be the ones who die.
Of course, Grace quickly realises what the game is about and desperately tries to fight for her life, not understanding why her boyfriend's family has to kill her before dawn. But it soon turns out that Alex's family has been convinced for years that their good fortune and success is due to a pact that one of their ancestors made with a benefactor named Le Bail, which they must fulfil in order to keep their fortune and their lives.
Thus, Grace, still wearing her wedding dress, becomes the target to be hunted, and Alex is caught between a rock and a hard place: the woman he claims to love and his family. This is a dark but still funny film, especially because Grace, despite her delicate appearance, has a strong survival instinct and her desire to survive surpasses that of the family. Grace is strong and determined, so the family panics as Grace seems to be a better hunter than they are, and although some members seem to show remorse, for a family with blood on their hands, their fate seems to be: kill or be killed.
The action and fight scenes are too good and brutal, and black humour is present in every scene. Extreme violence is mixed with absurdity and comedy, creating a chaotic and crazy atmosphere throughout. The film heavily satirises the upper class, such as those willing to do anything to maintain their power and wealth. To be honest, I was quite entertained the first time I saw this film; I loved Grace's character and her courage to cope with such a situation despite having everything against her.
The trailer for a second film was recently released, and although I thought they would ruin it, the trailer actually looks very good and features one of my favourite actresses, a 90s icon, Sarah Michelle Gellar. I can't wait for it to be released!

Espero que se encuentren bien. Hoy les quiero hablar de una de mis películas de terror favoritas, la cual vi hace muchos años y que vuelvo a ver cada cierto tiempo. Cabe destacar que más bien es una comedia de terror y sátira social muy graciosa en “cierto sentido”, que aunque no hay chistes como tal, la forma en como se desarrolla todo hace que uno se ría, aun con toda la sangre, porque sí, es una película muy sangrienta. Esta película se llama: Boda sangrienta.
Como dije, es una comedia de terror y sátira donde una novia justo en su noche de bodas debe sobrevivir a una cacería mortal organizada como parte de una “tradición familiar” por la familia de su esposo. La historia sigue a Grace, quien se casa con Alex Le Domas, un joven que por muchos años vivió alejado de su familia, una familia muy rica y excéntrica, dueños de un imperio de juegos de mesa. Cuando se casa con Alex, su familia le informa que tienen una tradición: cada vez que un nuevo miembro se une a la familia, debe participar en un juego en su noche de bodas.
Para la elección del juego, Grace tiene que sacar una carta; Grace saca “el escondite”, aunque ella se ríe de lo que sacó, suponiendo que el juego se trata de las escondidas. Pronto la cara de la familia de Alex cambia, al saber lo que tienen que hacer. Así inicia el juego: mientras Grace ingenuamente se esconde, la familia de Alex empieza a sacar armas como pistolas, ballestas y cuchillos, porque debido a la carta que sacó Grace deben matarla; si no, ellos serán lo que mueran.
Por supuesto, Grace rápidamente se da cuenta de lo que trata el juego y desesperada intenta luchar por su vida, sin entender por qué la familia de su novio tiene que matarla antes del amanecer. Pero pronto se descubre que la familia de Alex ha estado convencida por años de que su buena fortuna y éxito se debe a un pacto que un antepasado suyo realizó con un benefactor llamado Le Bail y que deben cumplir para mantener su fortuna y su vida.
Es así como Grace, con su vestido de novia aún puesto, se convierte en el objetivo a cazar y Alex está entre la espada y la pared: la mujer que dice amar y su familia. Esta es una película oscura, pero aun así graciosa, sobre todo porque Grace, a pesar de su apariencia delicada, tiene un alto instinto de supervivencia y sus ganas de sobrevivir sobrepasan a la familia. Grace es fuerte y decidida, por lo que la familia entra en pánico a medida que Grace parece ser mejor cazadora que ellos y, aunque algunos miembros parecen mostrar remordimiento, para una familia con las manos manchadas de sangre, su destino parece ser: matar o morir.
Las escenas de acción y de pelea son demasiado buenas y brutales y el humor negro está en cada escena. La violencia extrema se ha mezclado de gran manera con lo absurdo y lo cómico, generando en todo momento un ambiente caótico y de locura. La película satiriza mucho a la clase alta, como aquellas dispuestas a todo por mantener su poder y su riqueza. Yo, la verdad, me entretuve bastante la primera vez que vi esta película; me encantó el personaje de Grace y su coraje para sobrellevar una situación como esa a pesar de tener todo en contra.
Hace poco sacaron el tráiler de una segunda película y, aunque tenía que la arruinarán, la verdad que el tráiler se ve muy bueno y traen a una de mis actrices favoritas, un icono de los 90, Sarah Michelle Gellar. ¡Ya quiero que la estrenen!
Por eso siempre dicen que los ricos son los más locos, pero si se ve bien entretenida la peli y aunque no sea mucho de ver sangre creo que sí le daría la oportunidad
Es que es buena la verdad y muy graciosa, la primera vez que la vi tenía como 15 y la vi por televisión fue mi entretenimiento en la noche.
Vi esta película y la verdad que divierte, si entretiene a pesar de ser una comedia estilo terror. Que loca esa familia y al final la maldición era cierta jejejeje.
Siiii eso del final me dió aún más risa sobretodo por la cara que puso la protagonista😅

Hey! Wow, what a crazy plot! I haven't actually seen the movie, but the "hide-and-seek" bit blew my mind. It sounds super absurd and terrifying at the same time, just the kind of dark humor and suspense I usually love. It makes me laugh (and feel anxious) thinking about the poor girlfriend's situation; you're expecting a romantic night and you end up running from the in-laws armed with crossbows and knives. It definitely confirms the theory that rich people have some pretty shady hobbies, haha.
