Dear “Movies & TV Shows” community, I introduce myself: My name is Fructuoso Martínez, I am 28 years old, I am from Mexico and I dedicate myself to writing.
Today I bring my first review for Hive, which is about one of my favorite movies of all time: "Batman Returns".
Since I was a child I have been a fan of Batman and above all, of his villains.
As they say out there, a good story is nothing without a good villain and this movie has good villains, no less than two classics: Penguin and Catwoman.
My reviews are divided into two parts: first I give a brief summary of the plot and then I express my opinion about it and its characters; My focus is the literary side, I don't usually delve into technical details or special effects.
Let's start...
Plot:
It's Christmas Eve in Gotham City and Batman is up against the fearsome Red Triangle Circus, a circus-themed criminal organization: clowns, sword swallowers, fire-breathers, etc. All of them led from the shadows by a deformed man who is better known as an urban legend than as a real human being: the fearsome Penguin, an intelligent man eager for revenge against a society that condemned him to live in the sewers for not tolerating his different appearance, starting with his parents, who abandoned him there.
In the middle of a popular celebration, Max Shreck, a cold and wicked businessman, is kidnapped and brought before the Penguin, who blackmails him into helping him carry out his revenge.
And on the other hand, Selina Kyle, Max's secretary, who suffers from low self-esteem, is saved from a criminal clown by Batman, but not even Batman could protect her from becoming the sexy but deadly Catwoman, after discovering some evil plans. of her boss and being “killed” by him. Selina becomes Catwoman in one of the best resurrection scenes I've ever seen (because of the kittens, obviously haha).
And so the villains' crusade begins: Penguin pretends to be a man of good intentions; Max intends to make the Penguin mayor and Selina simply wants to kill Max.
Batman, as a good superhero, ends up frustrating every plan of the enemies, thus reaching an epic final battle against Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin's real name) in the middle of the snow and against Selina, trying to save a Max who clearly did not love him. deserves.
And to all this let's add that Batman and Catwoman hate each other, but between Bruce Wayne (Batman's true identity) and Selina a beautiful feeling arises.
Without a doubt, a great movie to watch during these dates.
My opinion:
The idea of bringing Oswald as a marginalized man was magnificent, only Tim Burton can bring us characters like that in such an epic way.
Abandoned by his parents, raised by penguins and welcomed by a group of people classified as "abnormal".
This is one of the creepiest versions of the Penguin.
And Danny DeVito's performance was spectacular, as he made Oswald feel like a monster trying to be a man, something that the film wanted to imply from the beginning: all that hatred accumulated over the years ended up turning him into a monster... or? Maybe it already came like this from birth? Well, we'll never know that.
Michael Keaton is the perfect Batman, not much to say.
Michelle Pfeiffer is, in my opinion, the best Catwoman ever; all a feme fatale
And about the story I must say that I love it in a way, because I identify a lot with the character of Oswald: alone, misunderstood and abandoned, in a world governed by superficiality.
The classic love-hate relationship between Batman and Catwoman is a perfect sweetener for the plot. Especially taking into account the absence of Vicky Vale. Although it would have been interesting to see a love triangle.
And I love the depressing aura, especially since it's Christmas time; I've always liked that good contrast between the sad and gloomy, and the colorful and happy.
And I want to make an honorable mention of good Alfred Pennyworth, because thanks to him Batman was able to stop Oswald's plans. A hero is nothing without his allies and that Alfred does not demand prominence is something worth noting. Always helping from "under the bat's wing".
And as for Gordon, he deserves more action! Throughout the saga such a valuable character was wasted.
And well, I also like to put in my reviews what I would have liked to see at the end of the movie, so here goes…
My perfect ending:
Batman thwarts Oswald's plans and he is sent to Arkham Asylum, where he is helped and manages to redeem himself; Max dies, but not killed by Selina, but in some trap left by Oswald; Selina and Bruce marry, and Batman and Catwoman face Gotham crime together.

Hola de nuevo ecosistema de Hive y plataforma de PeakD.
Querida comunidad de “Movies & TV Shows”, me presento: Mi nombre es Fructuoso Martínez, tengo 28 años, soy de México y me dedico a la escritura.
El día de hoy traigo mi primera reseña para Hive, la cual va sobre una de mis películas favoritas de todos los tiempos: “Batman regresa”.
Desde niño he sido fanático de Batman y sobre todo, de sus villanos.
Como dicen por ahí, una buena historia no es nada sin un buen villano y esta película vaya que tiene buenos villanos, nada menos que dos clásicos: Pingüino y Catwoman.
Mis reseñas se dividen en dos partes: primero doy un breve resumen de la trama y después expreso mi opinión sobre ella y sus personajes; mi enfoque es el lado literario, no suelo ahondar en los detalles técnicos o en los efectos especiales.
Comencemos…
Trama:
Es vísperas de Navidad en Ciudad Gótica y Batman se enfrenta al temible Circo del Triángulo Rojo, una organización criminal con temática de circo: payasos, tragaespadas, escupefuegos, etc. Todos ellos liderados desde las sombras por un hombre deforme que es más conocido como una leyenda urbana que como un ser humano real: el temible Pingüino, un hombre inteligente y ansioso de venganza contra una sociedad que lo condenó a vivir en las cloacas por no tolerar su apariencia diferente, empezando por sus padres, quienes le abandonaron ahí.
En medio de una celebración popular, Max Shreck, un frío y perverso hombre de negocios, es secuestrado y llevado ante el Pingüino, quien lo chantajea para que le ayude a llevar a cabo su venganza.
Y por otro lado, Selina Kyle, secretaria de Max, quien sufre de baja autoestima, es salvada de un payaso criminal por Batman, pero ni si quiera Batman pudo protegerla de convertirse en la sexy pero letal Catwoman, a raíz de descubrir algunos planes perversos de su jefe y ser “asesinada” por éste. Selina se convierte en Catwoman en una de las mejores escenas de resurrección que he visto (por los gatitos, obvio jaja).
Y así comienza la cruzada de los villanos: Pingüino finge ser un hombre de buenas intenciones; Max pretende convertir al Pingüino en alcalde y Selina, simplemente quiere matar a Max.
Batman, como buen superhéroe, termina frustrando cada plan de los enemigos, llegando así a una épica batalla final contra Oswald Cobblepot (verdadero nombre del Pingüino) en medio de la nieve y contra Selina, tratando de salvar a un Max que, claramente no lo merece.
Y a todo esto añadamos que Batman y Catwoman se odian, pero entre Bruce Wayne (verdadera identidad de Batman) y Selina surge un hermoso sentimiento.
Sin duda una gran película para ver durante estas fechas.
Mi opinión:
La idea de traer a Oswald como un hombre marginado fue magnífica, sólo Tim Burton puede traernos personajes así de una manera tan épica.
Abandonado por sus padres, criado por pingüinos y acogido por un grupo de personas catalogadas como “anormales”.
Esta es una de las versiones más creepys del Pingüino.
Y la actuación de Danny DeVito fue espectacular, pues nos hizo sentir a Oswald como un monstruo intentando ser un hombre, algo que la película quiso dar a entender desde un principio: todo ese odio acumulado por años lo terminó convirtiendo en un monstruo… ¿o quizá ya vino así de nacimiento?, bueno, eso nunca lo sabremos.
Michael Keaton es el Batman perfecto, no hay mucho qué decir.
Michelle Pfeiffer es, en mi opinión, la mejor Catwoman de la historia; toda una feme fatal.
Y sobre la historia debo decir que me encanta de sobre manera, pues me identifico mucho con el personaje de Oswald: tan solo, incomprendido y abandonado, dentro de un mundo gobernado por la superficialidad.
La relación de amor-odio tan clásica de Batman y Catwoman es un endulce perfecto para la trama. Sobre todo tomando en cuenta la ausencia de Vicky Vale. Aunque hubiera sido interesante ver un triángulo amoroso.
Y el aura deprimente me encanta, sobre todo porque es época navideña; ese buen contraste entre lo triste y lúgubre, y lo colorido y feliz, siempre me ha gustado.
Y quiero hacer mención honorífica al buen Alfred Pennyworth, pues gracias a él Batman pudo detener los planes de Oswald. Un héroe no es nada sin sus aliados y que Alfred no exija protagonismo es algo digno de destacar. Siempre ayudando desde “bajo el ala del murciélago”.
Y en cuanto a Gordon, ¡merece más acción!, en toda la saga se desperdició a tan valioso personaje.
Y bueno, también me gusta poner en mis reseñas lo que me hubiese gustado ver en el final de la película, así que aquí va…
Mi final perfecto:
Batman frustra los planes de Oswald y éste es enviado a Arkham Asylum, en donde es ayudado y logra redimirse; Max muere, pero no asesinado por Selina, sino en alguna trampa dejada por Oswald; Selina y Bruce se casan, y Batman y Catwoman enfrentan juntos al crimen de Gótica.
