The atmosphere and people really creep me out in this film compared to his previous outing, Hereditary. Directing and writing a movie based on the subject matter of this film is very hit or miss from my experiences and this was definitely a hit for me.
I'm looking forward to seeing what his next film will be. He's a director to keep your eye on.
In my case, I found Hereditary much more immersive than Midsommar, but that does not detract from the feeling that in Midsommar at all times you can get the creeps. This year he releases his next movie called Disappointment Blvd and I can't wait to see it.
