Review of The Tomorrow War

in Movies & TV Shows3 years ago

Hello readers, I watch heaps of movies and always want someone to talk to about the movies I watched so I realized I'll use this account to blog about it.

So this is my first movie blog on this account and I will be talking about an action / sci-fi film which is an Amazon Original Movie. Directed by Chris McKay, known for directing Lego Batman Movie and a lot of other family movies so it was interesting to see what he could do with a budget of 200 million USD.

SPOILER ALERT:

It was a normal day for the former soldier turned science teacher, Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) was watching the soccer world cup when suddenly time traveling humans from the 2051 appear in the middle of the field, warning people of the future and trying recruit people from the past to help fight in a time where humans are on the break of existence by a deadly alien species.

This movie had a different plot that I haven't seen explored in any other movie so far. Normal humans that had no training in the field being forced to fight a war in the future against aliens. Most scenes had me griping the edge of the couch. But the aliens are just like the same we've seen done multiple times in different movies. They are sly, slithering, screeching onto the screen in big packs with hardly any weakness while humans had normal military weaponry but armed by regular civilians.

Yet the design of the aliens was done beautifully. They had a very creepy look to them and that long tail at the back made them even more dangerous.

Overall I was kinda disappointment tho because when I saw Chris Pratt staring in this movie I was expecting a little bit of comedy, instead he were given a more serious role which was still pretty good cause he fits the role perfectly.

What do you think would happen if this was to really happen to humanity?

Most of the time I try to avoid trailers since heaps always give away but if you'd like to see the trailer here it is.
