Martin Scorcese: Highlighting My Top Three Movies from an All Time Great

I am a fan of all time classic movies, and like most movie addicts, I have got favourites.

Today, I will be sharing reviews on movies produced by one of my favourite movie directors. And in a bid to kill two birds with one stone, I will also be suggesting a few movies you could plan to binge on ahead of the weekend.

So without much ado then, let's begin.

You know who that is in the picture above, right? No?...

That is the world famous Martin Scorcese. A wonderful story teller, and a superb movie director. On my all-time list, he sits tops amongst movie directors, and of course, I have watched a lot of his movies more times than I have watched any other clip.

So which movies of his are my favourites? First up is Goodfellas...

I really don't know how best to portray this movie without really spoiling it for you. I get excited just thinking about that beginning. The part where Henry Hill says... "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster" From that point, the movie goes non-stop, fast paced, gripping at every scene. And you know Joe Pesci, whenever he's involved in a movie, there's bound to be some Italian street fighting (or killing) of some sort.

This movie, in general, is a ten out of ten for me. It is based on the book, "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pilleggi, and it is totally worth spending your time on. Come back and thank me once you've seen it.

And next up is...

CASINO!

If you are a fan of Martin Scorcese and his movies, you would have guessed that this movie would be among the top two movies I would list here. Casino is a movie about a man (Robert De Niro), who is sponsored by the mafia heads to run a Casino in Vegas. He is followed there by his childhood friend (Joe Pesci), who brings along with him a part of the hood to Vegas. The story takes twists and turns from there, and I would not spoil it much for you. Trust me, this is classic cinema. You don't want to not watch this movie... It is a bet you ought to take. See what I did there?

And last but not least on my list...

The Irishman

This movie combines the past and present in a superb story that is itself based off a book, which itself is also alleged to be based on a true life story. The intrigue in this movie is what gave me my first love for Scorcese, and this movie made me go back in time to search and root out all his movies, just so I could enjoy his art to the fullest.

Here, a man in a nursing home recounts his story of how he transformed from a truck driver to a hitman, and how he carried out countless jobs for the mafia, including one that involved his old friend (Al Pacino). Without spoiling this movie for you, I would say just go watch it, and you will no doubt be grateful that I recommended it to you.

As an extra, though this one not directed by Martin Scorcese...

Ever wanted to see a movie about a dysfunctional yet super cool family, and one in which all members are gangsters in their own rights? If the answer is yes, then THE FAMILY is for you.

A binge would convince you.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers!

Martin Scorsese is just a great director, and one of the best of the world.
I have to say I am surprised you didn't picked up Taxi Driver, because it is an all time classic, but good picks!

Personally, I think taxi Driver is overrated though. It is one of the Scorcese films which I actually do not like.

I am not saying that as a New York movie, it is bad... But as a film for a global audience, I just feel it is overrated.

Thanks for reading friend.
