Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Hace poco ví una película llamada My Son (Mi Hijo) dirigida y escrita por Christian Carion y protagonizada por James McAvoy y Claire Foy, es una película que no tiene buenas reseñas pero que ví porque me llamo la atención la trama que trata de un padre desesperado por encontrar a su hijo quién desapareció en circunstancias muy extrañas. Siempre hay que darle una oportunidad a las películas que son menos conocidas y que son poco valoradas por el público y esa fue mi idea cuando la vi, verla sin ninguna expectativa.

I recently saw a movie called My Son directed and written by Christian Carion and starring James McAvoy and Claire Foy, it's a movie that doesn't have good reviews but I saw it because I was attracted by the plot about a father desperate to find his son who disappeared in very strange circumstances. You should always give a chance to films that are less known and underrated by the public and that was my idea when I saw it, watch it without any expectations.
La trama nos cuenta la desaparición del hijo de Edmond Murray (James McAvoy) un hombre que luego de terminar su relación con la madre de su hijo Ethan, por lo que no suele pasar mucho tiempo en la vida de su hijo y conviviendo con él. Un día repentinamente Jo (Claire Foy) la madre de Ethan llamada desesperada a Edmond para decirle que su hijo se encuentra desaparecido y que necesita que vuelva de su trabajo que se encuentra en otro país, dónde se encarga de trabajar haciendo cosas bastante delicadas y que lo comprometen de tal manera que no puede viajar con frecuencia a ver a Ethan, pero ante esta llamada decide ir sin pensarlo y tratar de ayudar a recuperar a su hijo.
The plot tells the story of the disappearance of the son of Edmond Murray (James McAvoy) a man who after ending his relationship with the mother of his son Ethan, so he does not usually spend much time in the life of his son and living with him. One day suddenly Jo (Claire Foy) Ethan's mother desperately calls Edmond to tell him that his son is missing and needs him to return from his job that is in another country, where he is responsible for working doing things quite delicate and that compromise him in such a way that he can not travel often to see Ethan, but before this call decides to go without thinking and try to help recover his son.
En la investigación se nos da la información de que Ethan fue inscrito en un campamento por su madre Jo debido a que ella pensaba que podría irle bien y hacer nuevos amigos, pero un día Ethan desaparece y la policía comienza la búsqueda tomando las declaraciones de las personas que llevaban el campamento y también de la familia cercana de Ethan que serían Edmond, Jo y la pareja de esta quien lleva una relación bastante larga con ella. En la entrevista que le hacen a Edmond le preguntan sobre su relación con Ethan y si es un padre presente y este responde que por su trabajo no puede estar cerca de él pero que siempre trata de llamarlo cuando puede y de enviarle regalos en navidad o en su cumpleaños.
In the investigation we are given the information that Ethan was enrolled in a camp by his mother Jo because she thought he could do well and make new friends, but one day Ethan disappears and the police begin the search taking the statements of the people who ran the camp and also the close family of Ethan that would be Edmond, Jo and her partner who has a fairly long relationship with her. In the interview Edmond is asked about his relationship with Ethan and if he is a present father and he answers that because of his work he cannot be close to him but he always tries to call him when he can and to send him gifts at Christmas or on his birthday.
La madre de Ethan, Jo (Claire Foy) se encuentra en un estado de angustia que le hace pensar lo peor y como toda madre desea que su hijo regrese a salvo a casa, mientras la investigación continúa Edmond habla un poco con la pareja de Jo y este le cuenta que tienen pensado mudarse a una nueva casa cuando las cosas mejoren pero de inmediato Edmond siente que él pudo tener algo que ver en la desaparición de Ethan ya que este hombre no habla en presente de tener a Ethan dentro de sus planes, lo que termina en una discusión entre ambos y dónde Edmond descubre que Jo está siendo medicada con pastillas para dormir y él piensa que puede estar siendo manipulada por su pareja.
Ethan's mother, Jo (Claire Foy) is in a state of distress that makes her think the worst and like every mother wants her son to return home safely, as the investigation continues Edmond talks a bit with Jo's partner and he tells her that they plan to move to a new house when things get better but immediately Edmond feels that he may have had something to do with Ethan's disappearance as this man does not speak in the present of having Ethan within his plans, which ends in an argument between the two and where Edmond discovers that Jo is being medicated with sleeping pills and he thinks she may be being manipulated by her partner.
Está película de género thriller psicológico tiene una historia que puede llamar mucho la atención cómo lo es el perder a un ser querido en medio de extrañas circunstancias y el deseo de tomar la justicia por sus propias manos, en este caso el padre de Ethan, Edmond se mantiene siempre en busqueda de su hijo y podemos notar la buena actuación de James McAvoy y su sufrimiento durante la hora y media de película, el es el que más destaca dentro de la película y que hace que la historia sea dentro de las criticas no tan mala, la historia es atrapante y tiene algo muy peculiar y es que fue grabada de forma natural, no tenian ningún guión para saber lo que debian hacer o decir asi que toda la película fluye de manera natural y en base a lo que los actores sentian en el momento que estaban viviendo dentro de la historia.
This psychological thriller film has a story that can call much attention how it is to lose a loved one in the midst of strange circumstances and the desire to take justice into their own hands, in this case the father of Ethan, Edmond is always in search of his son and we can notice the good performance of James McAvoy and his suffering during the hour and a half of film, He is the one who stands out the most in the film and that makes the story not so bad, the story is gripping and has something very peculiar and is that it was filmed naturally, they had no script to know what to do or say so the whole movie flows naturally and based on what the actors felt at the moment they were living in the story.
Lo mejor de la película es sin duda la actuación de James McAvoy quien representa a un padre angustiado y que hace todo lo posible por rescatar a su hijo, quien se mantiene en constante búsqueda de información y de pistas que le puedan dar una idea de donde se encuentra Ethan, podemos ver el desespero y el sentimiento desgarrador de quién siente que pierde parte importante de su propia vida a través de un hijo. Hay varias escenas que son faciles de predecir y que tal vez por esta razón a algunas personas no les gustó la película, pero si tiene muchos momentos de tensión y de desconfianza en todos las personas que estuvieron presentes antes de la desaparición de Ethan y después de esta, dónde se revela una verdad que sucede muy a menudo y que hace que pueda hacerse justicia por muchas personas que tal vez fueron asesinadas de manera atroz e injustamente.
The best of the film is undoubtedly the performance of James McAvoy who represents an anguished father who does everything possible to rescue his son, who is constantly searching for information and clues that can give him an idea of where Ethan is, we can see the desperation and the heartbreaking feeling of who feels he loses an important part of his own life through a son. There are several scenes that are easy to predict and perhaps for this reason some people did not like the film, but it does have many moments of tension and distrust in all the people who were present before and after Ethan's disappearance, where a truth is revealed that happens very often and that makes justice can be done for many people who may have been killed in an atrocious and unjust way.
Tal vez no es la mejor película de todas pero si tiene sus buenos momentos y deja una gran idea de lo que sucede muchas veces dentro de él secuestro de personas y niños para ser vendidos o abusar de ellos sexualmente. Si quieren verla pueden buscarla en Magistv y también en Amazon Prime Video, además de otras páginas de películas por internet tanto en idioma inglés con subtitulos o en español. Para mí fue una película 3/5 puntos que aunque no tuvo grandes escenas si que destacó la participación de James McAvoy y la historia detrás de la desaparición de Ethan.
Maybe it is not the best movie of all but it has its good moments and leaves a great idea of what happens many times within the kidnapping of people and children to be sold or sexually abused. If you want to see it you can look for it on Magistv and also on Amazon Prime Video, as well as other online movie sites both in English with subtitles or in Spanish. For me it was a 3/5 points movie that although it did not have great scenes it did highlight the participation of James McAvoy and the story behind Ethan's disappearance.
