Joker: Folie à Deux (2024): why it failed (with spoilers)| por qué falló (con spoilers)

Let's start with the positive points. Anyone who praised Phoenix's performance in Joker has to repeat the praise in this sequel. The actor once again embodies the character in an extraordinary way, as if he had made both films at the same time. The physical commitment, that strange laugh, the range of emotions, the contrast between his passivity and those violent attacks, between humiliation and arrogance, all of that is present again in Joker: Folie à Deux. If we are consistent, Phoenix's talent cannot be omitted. Nor can we fail to say that Lady Gaga is superb in her performance, to such a level that, at times, the spark of the story falls on her. I would have liked to see more of her character and know what it was that drove her from one side of her madness to the other, that they would have gone deeper into her origins, but in terms of what the script asked her to do, Gaga did it all wonderfully well, so it's a shame that they didn't know how to take advantage of the talent of a leading couple who even sings and dances in the film, which brings me to the next positive point, which is the music. The soundtrack of Joker: Folie à Deux is also very good, both in the selection of the songs to cover and in the original compositions that maintain the gloomy tone of Gotham City and the first film, the decision was accurate. So where was the failure? Well, in many places, but the main one was in the script.

Let's talk about Agatha Harkness

Now, if we see how she is officially presented, it was through Wanda Vision, her name was Agnes but she chose this name to keep up appearances and continue living in a somewhat particular town, her main motive was the immense power that emanated from this place, however things did not end well.

Trap - hunting a serial killer | La trampa - cazando a un asesino en serie | Film review

At first, I found him to be a very observant man who was concerned for his daughter's safety, this man is charming, kind and polite I would say it is every wife's dream to have a father for her children like him, his concern starts to get out of control, and he doesn't really share in the concert with his daughter because he is looking for alternatives to escape and finds out that it has all been a trap to catch a serial killer, as I mentioned in the review, until this point I was hesitant to think that he could be, and he killed himself because I felt so much empathy for the character.

Turtles All The Way Down(2024)

From the first frame, the film sets the tone with its intimate portrayal of Aza’s mental state. The direction, led by Hannah Marks, gives us a front-row seat to Aza’s anxiety and compulsions, using visual cues like quick cuts, close-ups and sound design to heighten the experience. It’s an impressive representation of what it feels like to live in constant fear of intrusive thoughts. The scenes where Aza’s spiraling thoughts are visually represented were especially impactful, pulling me into her world of endless loops of worry. It’s uncomfortable at times, but it’s meant to be.

In Time(2011) Review - Zamana Karşı İnceleme

My favorite thing about the movie was that even though there were some minor absurdities, there were no major logic errors. Of course, there are dramatic things like him trying to catch up with his mother and not making it at the last minute, but isn't that what happens in all movies? Imagine living in such a utopia. Would you be able to go against the system? Or would you live in your own way? I will give the movie 8 out of 10 because I liked the script and the acting. By the way, Cillian Murphy is among the actors. I hope I don't need to tell you how successful an actor he is.

Getting Lost | Film Review

The documentary also makes it quite clear that the creators improvised a lot. In the end it was a joke what they always claimed they had planned all along. Maybe they did know what they wanted the ending to look like, but the whole journey was full of unexpected stops. It was understandable. They had a brilliant idea and they had to make it happen quickly. They even thought the series would not be approved and the pilot, which cost a fortune for its time, became the most expensive pilot episode in the history of American television. Sometimes big hits come out that way. Other series may have been highly planned and applied a formula for success and turned out to be huge failures. Lost was rushed and ended up achieving unimaginable success.

No me gusta conducir: una opción ligera y entretenida 🍿

I think this is one of the shortest reviews I've done, and this miniseries is really simple, light, entertaining, with realistic situations and very enjoyable. What I liked the most is that it goes to the point, without adding a lot of filler, with short chapters and a good rhythm that is maintained until the end.

Robot Salvaje: Un Film Conmovedor que vale la pena ver

It has comedy, action, drama but most of all an excess of tenderness. So if you're an animal lover and you like technology, this is definitely for you. I for one give it all of its 5 Little Golden Stars. If I could give it more I would, because it truly deserves it. My favorite character was the fox, he reminded me a lot of me. Until the next post, Cheers! 💕

Rebel Ridge | Review

And it all starts like this, a lot of slow, dissolving scenes, when you think something is going to happen emotionally, it falls short, and you stay there, waiting for the end, to see if it moves a little more, and yes of course, it happens, not how you imagined it, but hey, something is something.
