The most interesting point of this whole series is the intrigue, and I must applaud its author Shawn Ryan because he did an impeccable job, faithful to what we are used to. One of the things that caught my attention is how in each chapter there is a flashback of the characters, that is key because it allows us as viewers to link the threads and thus be able to give with the hidden of the series, although I must admit that I could not solve the riddle, it was very well woven until the end.

From then on, it's all honey on roses, until fate reminds them that they should never have been together. It's not fair at all, I cried my eyes out at the end. They go through the thousand and one and just when they can finally be together, it all comes to an end. It makes us think about that romantic and cruel idea of "what if?", to that complicated questioning for many people about whether to risk being with that person (or anything). Time is unforgiving, and it takes care of reminding us of this in many ironic and sometimes painful ways. But, at the end of the day, that's what life is all about, stumbling and learning from them, taking risks to see what we can gain from the situation, knocking on doors and getting opportunities (applies to every aspect of our lives). So beyond watching the movie, enjoying it and crying all the time in the process, you could also think a bit about the message and, as I always say: If you haven't seen it, see it, and if you have already seen it, see it again, you can't miss it.

The plot is extremely basic, it focuses only on setting an objective and the protagonists doing what is pertinent to achieve it, as basic as it sounds is the plot, it has one or another pleasant joke but not much further. Narratively there is not much, the main problem of the film does not really feel like a problem but rather like an eventuality without consequences, so, as a viewer you want the issue to be solved but there really is not something that makes you empathize with the cause of the problems. protagonists. It is not an exaggerated length, although its premise is simple, it maintains constant progress so it does not become tedious to watch.

Jason Statham has always been my favorite actor of all time, every film he plays in makes me really enjoy every second of the film because for me the film would be beautiful if it starred Jason Statham like the film I just finished watching entitled Operation Fortune : Ruse de guerre which will be released in 2023.

I found the fact that it was set in the midst of Mussolini's dictatorship singular, but upon further investigation this was because this historical context provided a dramatic and significant backdrop for the film's plot. Pinocchio is presented as a rebellious soul, an attribute that takes on greater relevance in Mussolini's political regime, where the fascist slogan of "obey for the sake of obeying, just like that, without thinking" prevailed. This setting allows us to explore themes of rebellion and disobedience through the character of Pinocchio. And so, Guillermo had the chance to give him an anti-war message as well, in order to show how absurd war can be in most cases. With all these comments made, I emphasize the fact that I do not seek to generate polemics or discussions of this nature, simply to talk about what was seen in the film.

Enjoy the characters, the dialogues, the scenes, as I said the village, the funny scenes, the setting in the village, the acting of more experienced actors like Carmen Beato or the always villainous Blanca Guerra as the beloved mother-in-law.

One of the things that captivated me the most about this film, besides the magnificent performances of Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal as the lead couple, was the way they tell us an intriguing story that requires special attention. At first, I admit that I failed to fully understand its background, so I had to look for additional information on the internet to understand what happened in those almost two hours of film. The plot of the story takes us to a future set in a rustic country setting, where a couple married for more than six years, Junior and Hen, lead a seemingly normal life. However, everything changes when a stranger named Terrance shows up at their door with an unusual proposal: the opportunity to travel into space. Junior is the chosen one because he is a man and, according to Terrance, has the necessary qualities to face this challenge that goes beyond what we know about the world.

Music is still something unmentionable in young Miguel's family, but he aspires to become a musician just like his idol, a famous musician already deceased named Ernesto de la Cruz, but this desire is truncated by the family's refusal with music because of the story I told you at the beginning. By an old photograph Miguel thinks he has some kinship with Ernesto de la Cruz, so this inspires him to enter a music contest to be held on the day of the dead, but his grandmother breaks his instrument for his great rejection of music, but Miguel is not defeated, the day of the celebration the boy enters the mausoleum of Ernesto de la Cruz to take his instrument and participate, just play the guitar is transported to another dimension.

That is perhaps the only complaint I have about this production; what I mentioned in the first paragraph: it feels, in some parts, rushed. Covering so much, and so many characters, in such a short time inevitably leads to that feeling of rushing. Events happen very quickly and it is easy to leave out some relevant fact because of a slight inattention. But that does not nullify the great experience that it is. If the idea was to increase the hype, no doubt that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros have succeeded; the second and third parts are also expected to arrive in 2024, and I hope that both, especially the last one, will be a carousel of unparalleled emotions.

As the movie goes on I found myself becoming increasingly envious of the life that he leads and the immense wealth that he has accumulated from being so good at it. I don't know if there really are people like this in the world but I would imagine that it is probably one of intense paranoia and what appears to be sometimes rather extensive preparation and noticing little things that most other people wouldn't. The level of access he has to certain things is impressive although I am a bit perplexed about how a person could possibly have a dozen passports and dozens of matching credit cards through fake identities. I guess there is a way but seeing as how it is sometimes difficult for me to use what is my genuinely real credit card, I have a hard time believing that this is possible. Oh well, it is a movie, we have to move past that.

The special effects and cinematography are good, it wobbles a bit CGI in the first season, but in the second it grabs you gently, which makes Sweet Home visually stunning, especially when we see the cast of the second season. The monsters are designed with great detail and are terrifying, which adds to the tension and fear during the action scenes, they make the viewer feel desperate. The music is also excellent and helps to create a tense and exciting atmosphere.

Recently we have received a wave of similar stories that, as in the case of Don't Look up, are responsible for approaching the concept of the end of the world from a cynical and mocking angle, something that contrasts with the more brutal and direct approaches that we saw in early 2000s cinema like the technically brilliant "2012."
