Si la comparo con otras adaptaciones de otros personajes como el Pájaro Loco, no es tan mala en comparación, pero eso sin duda no la hace un buen filme. Se siente como que el director y los animadores no hubiesen entendido muy bien de que trata la escencia de este dúo, por lo que se convierte en otra del montón más.

La animación en si es buena, nada demasiado impresionante, aunque siento que aquí los animadores se sentaron a ver la serie original de Hannah Barbera y buscar hacerle tributo a muchas de las cosas que allí observamos, como por ejemplo la cabeza plana de Tom después de un golpe con la plancha de ropa, y otras referencias a esa serie, al menos aquí, no estuvieron tan mal.

Las actuaciones, en línea general, estuvieron muy malas, ya que en este tipo de películas importa más como te relaciones con los dibujos animados y la comodidad que sientas al hacerlo, y el perfecto ejemplo de como hacerlo fatal es Michael Peña, que siempre se le vio incómodo ante estás escenas, por más que como actor sea bueno. Las interpretaciones de Colin Jost (Ben) y Pallavi Sharda (Preeta) tampoco me gustaron y no sentí real química entre ellos.

Ahora del otro lado tenemos a Chloë Grace Moretz (Kayla), primeramente tengo que acotar que es demasiado hermosa, y volviendo a lo que importa, como actriz de verdad no me parece nada del otro mundo, actuaciones algo flojas en general, y aquí no fue la excepción, pero cuando ves como interactúa con los dibujos animados y la buena vibra que le mete al papel, vuelves a caer en su embrujo y reconectar con la película.

El desarrollo de la historia y el guión son muy simplones, a pesar de ser una película para niños siento que debieron esforzarse más aquí, ya que al final todos esos "niños de corazón" que recuerdan con tanto amor a este gato y ratón serán a los que estaría dirigida este filme, ya que nosotros seremos quienes presente este dúo a muchos nuevos posibles fanáticos de la franquicia, por lo que hubiera agradecido un poco más de humor sin tantos clichés, aunque la mayoría de golpes me encantaron, jajaja.

Y aquí llego a lo mejor y a lo peor de la cinta, con lo mejor tenemos a Tom y Jerry, ellos son los absolutos protagonistas y cuando ves la cinta ya sabes que te vas a encontrar, humor físico con unos golpes que provocan nostalgia de la serie original y risa, y lo peor la trama, me parece estúpido a niveles legendarios que esta película tengan sus bases o todo tenga sentido a partir de una boda fallida, de verdad no tiene el más mínimo sentido para mí. Por ahí también aparecen Ozuna y Nicky Jam, pero no sé qué pensar de eso.

En conclusión, es una película que le faltó alma, pero no por eso tal vez no te saque una sonrisa, es mucho más para el público infantil que con algunas escenas como Jerry volando en un dron o Tom en una patineta con Wifi le harás el fin de semana, sin duda alguna. Aunque para mí gusto particular, me quedo con la serie original de Hannah Barbera, nada como un clásico!
