I've seen this movie several times but I must confess that I've never really seen it from your point of view. You truly have a great point here friend. Demolition man was and is still a blast for me.

I know, it is a lot easier to just look at it like a Stallone film and be done with it, but heck, you have to know it has so deep stuff as well as explosions xD
