"The Office"- Fun, original and moving.
It aired on NBC in the year 2005 through 2013. It lasted a total of nine seasons.
The Office(USA) is an adaptation of the 2001-2003 BBC series of the same name, which was adapted for American television by Greg Daniels, a veteran writer for Saturday Night Live, King of the Hill and The Simpsons. It was co-produced by Daniels' Deedle-Dee Productions and Reveille Productions (later Shine America), in association with Universal Television. The original executive producers were Daniels, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, Ricky Gervais, and Stephen Merchant, and many others were promoted in subsequent seasons.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
Jim and Pam are essential to this story, as well. A love story that started out in that office, and that was able to materialize, throughout the years, with its ups and downs, into a marriage with two beautiful children, is what we, romantics, came to see here. Jim/James/Jimothy Halpert and Pam/Pamela Beesely are the power couple of the century; true soulmates, if you will. Plus, who doesn’t love Jim’s pranks on Dwight K. Schrutte, Dunder Mifflin’s Assistant (to the) Regional Manager? This triad of salesmen are the powerhouse of the company. Which is why, we must always remember the words of Jim, nay… Dwight… “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica”. Now, talk about a universal truth.
What can I say about the rest of the office that has not been implied yet? This melting pot is the chore of the laughter.
Andy, with his singing talent (and an anger management past); Angela, with her loyal love for cats (and for Dwight… and for party planning); Oscar, with his intelligence and, probably, some conviction note intended for Michael; Stanley, with his passion for pretzels; Phyllis, with her oversized friend for Michael; Kevin, or should we call him Ashton Kutcher? I am not quite sure yet, they are identical; Kelly and Ryan, the never-ending story; Erin, the mere embodiment of emotions; Darryl (we all remember what Michael thought about him during their trip, with Holly, to Nashua); Toby… wow, Toby… the Antichrist, the office’s silent killer, the “Scranton Strangler”; and Creed, what can we say about him? I am really asking; I have no idea!
