And well, as is customary after so much bombardment of superheroes in recent years one would think that they have already seen everything possible of this genre, but Amazon Prime Video brings us the animated adaptation of a well-known comic who shows us that there is still much to explore in this superhero world and that very fresh and surprising stories can still be told.

The initial premise surely sounds a little familiar to you: we will meet our protagonist, Mark Grayson, he is a seemingly ordinary teenager except for a small detail, his father is Omni-man, the most powerful superhero on the planet and the symbol of peace and justice for all citizens. Mark longs to develop his own powers as soon as he is able to reach the world of superheroes. before and when he finally achieves it, he enters a heroic world with great enthusiasm and excitement. However, he quickly discovers that this world he believed to be perfect is not as bright and healthy as he imagined, one of the things that distinguishes Invincible is its ability to play with our expectations.

The series takes some classic clichés of superhero stories and twists them in really unexpected ways, often very brutal. It's not just a total deconstruction of this genre, but it's a complete reimagining of everything it means to be a hero. It's not afraid to explore much darker and more violent aspects in a world full of super-powered beings and not all of them are as good as they seem.

En esta ocasión les vengo a compartir una serie que se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas y también ha sido uno de los pilares de la plataforma de Amazon Prime Video, es una serie que realmente ha impactado a muchos espectadores y que sin duda cada vez irá llegando a más gente para hacerlos cambiar un poco su perspectiva de lo que creían que era una serie superheróica.. Y bueno, como ya es costumbre después de tanto bombardeo de superhéroes en los últimos años uno pensaría que ya ha visto todo lo posible de este género, pero Amazon Prime Video nos trae la adaptación animada de un cómic bastante conocido quien nos demuestra que aún queda mucho por explorar de este mundo superheróico y que aún se pueden contar historias muy frescas y sorprendentes..

La premisa inicial seguramente les suena un poco familiar: conoceremos a nuestro protagonista, Mark Grayson, él es un adolescente aparentemente común y corriente salvo por un pequeño detalle, su padre es Omni-man, el superhéroe más poderoso del planeta y el símbolo de la paz y la justicia para todos los ciudadanos.. Mark anhela desarrollar sus propios poderes cuanto antes y cuando finalmente lo logra, se adentra en un mundo heroico con mucha ilusión e entusiasmo.. Sin embargo, rápidamente descubre que este mundo al que creía perfecto no es tan brillante ni sano como él lo imaginaba, una de las cosas que distingue a Invincible es su capacidad para jugar con nuestras expectativas..

La serie toma algunos clichés clásicos de las historias de superhéroes y los retuerce de maneras realmente inesperadas, a menudo muy brutales.. You can surely find certain similarities between this series and the acclaimed series The Boys, which is also produced by Amazon Prime Video, but it should be noted that each of these stories are totally different, although they are relatively similar in terms of violence and adult tone. I think it's good to find adaptations that are easily distinguished, their differences are appreciated. On the other hand, I found the animation in this series to be very good, although it is not the most innovative, it manages to perfectly capture the essence of the original comic, adapting some designs in a very vibrant way. The action sequences seemed spectacular to me, some more than others, and they do not skimp at all on the brutality and consequences of the confrontations between the superpowered beings, also the cast of voices seemed outstanding to me, from Steven Yeun giving life to Mark with a perfect mix of youthful naivety and a growing and slightly naive determination, I think he perfectly conveys what his character represents.

We also have the well-known J.K Simmons, who masterfully gives life to Omni-man, bringing many layers of complexity to a character that could have been really one-dimensional, but in this series has a lot of background. The rest of the cast also includes very interesting characters, some heroes or villains that are enjoyable to watch, but what stands out the most is its narrative. Each episode is carefully structured to keep you hooked, there are several plot twists that really leave you open-mouthed and eager to see more.

I recommend that you stay until the end of the credits, since in some episodes there are post-credits scenes that are well worth it, the series is not afraid to shake up the entire status quo and satisfy the expectations of all viewers. It's crazy how things start to develop little by little, and I think that each episode has a certain ability to catch you and keep you in suspense as to what will happen next.

Seguramente pueden encontrar ciertas similitudes entre esta serie y la aclamada serie de The Boys, quien también es producida por Amazon Prime Video, pero cabe destacar que cada una de estas historias son totalmente diferentes, aunque son relativamente parecidas en cuanto a la violencia y el tono adulto.. Creo que es bueno encontrar adaptaciones que distinguen fácilmente, se aprecian sus diferencias. Por otra parte, la animación en esta serie me pareció muy buena, aunque no es la más innovadora, logra capturar perfectamente la esencia del cómic original, adaptando algunos diseños de manera muy vibrante.. Las secuencias de acción me parecieron espectaculares, algunas más que otras, y no escatiman para nada en la brutalidad y en las consecuencias de los enfrentamientos entre los seres superpoderosos, también el elenco de voces me pareció sobresaliente, desde Steven Yeun dando vida a Mark con una mezcla perfecta de ingenuidad juvenil y una determinación creciente y un poco ingenua, opino que transmite perfectamente lo que representa a su personaje..

También tenemos al conocido J.K Simmons, quien da vida de manera magistral a Omni-man, aportando muchas capas de complejidad a un personaje que podría haber sido realmente unidimensional, pero que en esta serie tiene mucho trasfondo. El resto del reparto también incluye personajes muy interesantes, algunos héroes o villanos que son disfrutables de ver, pero entre lo que más destaca.. es su narrativa. Cada episodio está cuidadosamente estructurado para mantenerte enganchado, hay varios giros argumentales que te dejan realmente boca abierta y ansioso de ver más..

Yo les recomiendo que se queden al final de los créditos, ya que en algunos episodios hay escenas post créditos que valen mucho la pena, la serie no tiene miedo de sacudir todo el status quo y de saciar las expectativas de todos los espectadores.. Es una locura cómo se empiezan a desarrollar las cosas poco a poco, y creo que cada episodio tiene cierta capacidad de atraparte y de mantenerte expectante a lo que irá pasando.

His journey of self-discovery feels really authentic, even in the midst of unthinkable situations, the series also addresses deep themes, it explores how complicated some family dynamics can be, the responsibility that comes with power, morality in a world full of crises and the weight of exceeding expectations..

All of these elements add many layers of complicity to the story, elevating it far above any other action that just gives you action without anything else, although I must say that this series may not be for everyone, like The Boys, the violence in some episodes can be quite graphic, and the harsher themes may be too intense for some viewers, mainly for some younger ones or for some sensitive people. The series is not afraid to show extremely bloody confrontations, which can border on the disturbing at times. Also, another thing I noticed is that as the episodes go by, several subplots start to develop at the same time, which can lose sight of the main thread a bit. Although most of these end up being well developed, there are times when some viewers would surely wish that they would focus more on the main story and not beat around the bush.

Otro aspecto que me gustó mucho de esta feria es cómo se manejan el desarrollo de los distintos héroes. Mark, por ejemplo, no es un superhéroe perfecto desde el principio.. comete varios errores, constantemente duda de sí mismo y lucha por encontrar su lugar en este mundo tan crónico.. Su viaje de autodescubrimiento se siente realmente auténtico, incluso en medio de situaciones impensables, la serie también aborda temas profundos, se explora lo complicada que pueden ser algunas dinámicas familiares, la responsabilidad que conlleva el poder, la moral en un mundo lleno de crisis y el peso de superar las expectativas..

Although it introduces many elements and characters, it manages to maintain a balance between action and more reflective moments, as I mentioned, it has an incredible ability to leave you wanting more after each episode. It really is good at hooking you.

It's a series that respects everything you expect from it, offering you characters with a really moving psychological and emotional depth that can easily connect with you. If you're a fan of stories of this kind, surely this series for adults will pleasantly surprise you. I give it a powerful 9.5/10. This series has two seasons and is currently developing its third season, so you will be b. in time to go see it. I think it is a must-see series today if you are into superhero stories. It offers a surprisingly deep experience that will leave many of you enchanted. A pesar de estos pequeños inconvenientes, creo que esta serie se ha convertido rápidamente en una de mis favoritas, y creo que en cuanto a adaptaciones de superhéroes, pienso que está rápidamente en mi top 5.. es una historia realmente interesante, impactante, y sumamente adictiva. La forma en la que combina elementos familiares clásicos del género con bastantes giros inesperados y una narrativa muy madura, la convierte en una experiencia que sin duda recomiendo para todos los fanáticos de la acción y los superhéroes.
