The Golden Globes will be held on January 11, and that's why the nominees were announced a few days ago. With the names on the list, we can already predict which ones will be the sure bets for the Oscars. In my post about my favorites for the Critics' Choice Awards, I already warned that Hollywood is rolling out the red carpet for Anderson's reactionary communist film, and seeing the Golden Globe nominees confirms this. I was also disappointed by some absences from the nominations, which I will explain later. These awards are given by the Foreign Press Association, and it is possible that many of them do not even watch all the nominated films or series. Public relations and gifts from large companies play a crucial role here.

We start with the Best Drama category, where the pleasant surprise is that Sinners is nominated, as it was at the Critics' Choice Awards, but I am upset that the film Train Dreams is not nominated. It's really unfair. From what I've seen, Frankenstein is shaping up to be the favorite in this category. It remains to be seen whether the others will gain ground, but Netflix must be investing a lot of money in Guillermo del Toro's film.

This is where we can see the Golden Globes' move to stay in good standing with its progressive stars by nominating One Battle After Another in the Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy category. They're going to give it the award, and its Oscar nomination is also a sure thing.

There is a category called “Highest Grossing Film,” and it's ridiculous that they nominated Avatar 3 when it hadn't even been released at the time of the nominations. This kind of nonsense is what makes these awards a complete farce. This is one of them. Looking at the nominees, this category should be won by Mission: Impossible - Fallout, because the box office figures back it up.

Among the nominees for Best Foreign Language Film is Sirat. I'm happy about that. I really liked that movie, it's also nominated for Critics Choice, but beware, it has strong rivals with better marketing, I think this category will go to Sentimental Value, which has been very successful lately.

As for the Best Director award, I would prefer Guillermo del Toro to win. He has worked very hard to bring his version of Frankenstein to light. I prefer him to any of the other nominees, but not Paul Thomas Anderson.

I'm not excited about the Best Actress in a Drama category this year. My favorite, without a doubt, will always be Jessie Buckley, who I think is fabulous in everything she does. I didn't like Julia Roberts in that pretentious and boring movie called After the Hunt. I'm not a fan of Luca Guadagnino, and I thought this one was disastrous. In the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical category, I see a fierce battle. In that category, I would even prefer the unpleasant Cynthia Erivo to win, because listening to her in interviews is torture, as she and Ariana Grande seem like two weirdos. I'd like Emma Stone or Rose Byrne to win, and for the beautiful Chase Infiniti to go home empty-handed, as her victory would be a victory for Anderson.

My favorite actor in a drama is Joel Edgerton. It's crazy that they nominated him but not the movie or the director. The Foreign Press Association is full of idiots. Dwayne Johnson is nominated, he got what he wanted, but his movie is unbearable crap. If they leave Egerton out of the race, I'd rather Michael B. Jordan win, who played two characters in Sinners. For best actor in a comedy or musical, I'm betting on Ethan Hawke and Jesse Plemons. If DiCaprio wins for the leftist movie (which wouldn't surprise me), it will all come down to politics.

As for the Best Supporting Actress category, I think Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, for Sentimental Value, could be a surprise winner; this film is nominated in several categories. Emily Blunt is nominated, but her film with The Rock is utter rubbish. However, everything points to Teyana Taylor being favored for her revolutionary terrorist character in the propaganda film, so there is sure to be an anti-Trump speech.

As for supporting actor, I assure you the same thing will happen, a political decision, and the progressive favorite is Sean Penn. My favorites here are Stellan Skarsgård or Jacob Elordi.

Moving on to the television categories, with best drama series in a battle where Slow Horse is a safe bet. My favorites here are Ploribus and Severance, but The Pitt is a drama that has been very successful and could win here. It's unfair that Task isn't nominated here, as it's the best drama series released recently and a second season has already been confirmed. In the best comedy series category, I have no doubt that the winner has to be The Studio. It's one of the best series of the year.

In the limited series category, I find it funny that The Beast in Me is nominated. It seems so absurd to me... Here, the red carpet is for the mini-series Adolescence. In Best Actor in a Drama Series, if Mark Ruffalo is nominated for Task, I see inconsistencies. This is my favorite. As with the Critics Choice Awards and Best Actress in a Drama Series, Rhea Seehorn too. I love this actress. For Actor in a Comedy Series, I never thought I'd say this, but it's Seth Rogen for The Studio. I've always found him to be a very outrageous and unbearable actor, but in recent years I've liked his characters, and he's great in The Studio. For Actress in a Comedy, I don't have a favorite this time, and I think Jean Smart will win.

For Actor in a Miniseries, the competition is very close. I'm glad Jacob Elordi is nominated for The Narrow Road to the Deep North, my favorite series, as I explained in my review. But there's also Stephen Graham for Adolescence and, above all, Charlie Hunnam for playing Ed Gein. I don't think it's fair to include Paul Giamatti in this category, since Black Mirror is not a miniseries or a TV movie, but a series with several seasons.

In the supporting categories, I prefer the characters from The Studio, but the teenager is nominated, as is the actress who played a psychiatrist in one episode and has already given progressive speeches, so I'm sure she'll win. She's a good actress, I like her work, I've seen several of her plays, but she's left-wing.

I don't plan on watching this ceremony. I used to like it, but in recent years, only rich people with left-wing messages appear. This ceremony will be nothing more than speeches against the government, against Trump, and all that nonsense.
