Yes, this film is a hybrid of 'The Menu' and 'Whiplash,' but the plot is entirely separate. The plot seemed plodding to me, but the director did an excellent job of covering that up. The characters lack complexity near the end of the film, reducing it into a classic good vs evil scenario with an overly simple and predictable happy ending. It was okay, entertaining, but I wasn't completely satisfied at the end.

Hahaha true. I wasn't completely satisfied either, for me everything was fine, until suddenly there is a change of pace, it slows down and then comes a very ridiculous ending. They ruined everything with that ending. There is good work in other aspects of the movie, I loved it visually, but the script has many cracks.
