Immediately when i saw HBO i was already picturing game of thrones and sin city.. haha. Because i know they basically treat on sex scenes and sexual violence. Well i have seen this one before and i understand how people feel about sex scenes a times when you dont make it right. Take for instance movies like 365 days today. I wouldn't say i hated the movie tho but it was a complete waste of time and resources to me because i didn't feel any story lines and didn't learn a dime from the whole movie full of sex and pleasure.. i guess that is the same thing banshee may be facing too that makes it underestimated.

I totally agree with you. I have watched the movie 365 days only after watching it. There are other movies that have nothing but sex, which are a waste of time for me. But in serials there is a story, there is a flow, not only sex, but the amount can be more or less, I have seen many serials. Take for example, Prison Break - it didn't even have the smell of sex, yet one of the best, has done 6 seasons without these, there are two scenes, if not shown, the subject would have remained unfinished.
