"Can You Keep A Secret" - movie review

This was basically a goofy film about girl meets boy, falls in love, gets burned and somehow they end up happily ever after...

It's a romantic comedy based on the novel of the same name by Sophie Kinsella and stars Alexandria Daddario as Emma, a young NYC Junior Marketing agent that feels trapped in her professional/romantic life. On her flight home after a client meeting turned sour, the plane hits some turbulence that causes panic.

Being a nervous flyer, half drunk and in the middle of the chaos, Emma confesses all the intricate details of her life, work and relationships to the fine stranger next to her, who listens with keen amusement and only snaps her out of it when the plane had landed.

Visibly embarrassed she hastily gets off believing that she is in the clear, as she was confident that she would never see this stranger again... or at least she thought he was until she meets Jack (Tyler Hoechlin), her company’s gorgeous CEO who now knows every humiliating detail about her.
She is forced to come face to face with the man who now knows her secrets and the burning desire for her life to change.

This movie is an exciting one and although a bit cliché, still tells us that love is possible even after exposing every weakness and stuff that makes you vulnerable. From the little flower she sticks in her hair to how the song Demons by Imagine Dragons gets her emotional and her quirkiness, Emma was not hard to love.

We all differ in our personalities as humans and each have one or two insecurities we're afraid to share with the world. So instead, we choose to mask all these and show people a facade of who we really are, rather than share.
Personally, I believe It's okay to let go sometimes and open our hearts to love.

> Favorite quote - ...."because what I've really learned is, if you can't be honest with your friends, colleagues and loved ones, then what is life all about"?

Thumbs down - I couldn't feel the closeness between the Emma and Jack. The bond they were supposed to depict was just not there. At some point it felt awkward, almost like a mismatch...!
Also, the fact that Jack finally revealed his secret to Emma only after she was forced to prove her loyalty to him.

Rating - 5/10

Thanks for reading guys and do enjoy the rest of your weekend😊
