Inspiration in the forge⚔️..

Many things inspire us. Some people are inspired by nature, some are inspired by music and arts while some people are inspired by the things they watch. If I were to mention one movie that inspred me then that move would be The Forge.

Not only is this movie so inspiring, it is also faith renewing and hope-lifting. It is a Christian based movie but I find that it is a movie that cuts across to anyone with a void in their soul, anyone with a deep longing for knowing their purpose and how to get to "destiny". This movie was released on the 23rd of August 2024, directed by Alex Kendrick and I can boldly say that it is the best thing after "war room".

Synopsis

The movie revolves around a single mom and her nineteen year old, lazy, arrogant and game addict son named Isaiah Wright. All her attempts to get him to take on some responsibility in the house proved abortive until she decided to bite the gun and ask him to go earn a living and earn his keep. At first he gets distracted and doesn't take his mom's words seriously until he meets Joshua Moore, an entrepreneur in sports fitness equipments. Joshua Moore was kind and patient with Isaiah and even hired him even though Isaiah had no qualifications.

That was not all. Joshua Moore decides to mentor Isaiah Wright an hour before work resumes and gradually, he gets Isaiah to begin to look on the bright side of life. With more and more mentoring from other disciples, Isaiah was led to Christ and became a member of "the forge", an elite group of young men devoted to serving Jesus Christ and grooming disciples.

Soon enough, Isaiah's transformation became visible both at home and at work. He began to take on responsibility at home and he also earned the trust of those around him. When all seemed to be going smoothly, a drastic change in business plans which would keep him and other workers out of a job sprang up but Isaiah took the reins of leadership and with a partial team of seven workers, they were able to meet a huge order delivery and this catapaulted the company, securing its finances for several years more. In the end, Isaiah became the man his mama, relatives and friends were proud of.

My inspiration

Two reasons made this movie inspiring to me. Firstly, it was the questions asked by Joshua Moore to Isaiah on their first meeting despite it being a sour encounter with Isaiah displaying youthful exuberance. The questions were.....

In what ways do you want to grow in the next year?

What kind of man do you want to be?

And what do you want people to think when they see you coming?.

5 years from now, who do you want to be?

These questions are so profound that I pondered on them for many days after watching the movie. The second reason why I find this movie so inspiring is the fact that Joshua Moore saw the potential in Isaiah even when Isaiah didn't see it. He was patient and willing to trust a teenage boy with no experience into his company. I think this attitude should be cultivated more . Most teenagers can be really annoying and disrespectful but if we can be patient and kind woth them, we can help steer them on the right path to destiny even when they don't believe in themselves.

I also loved the idealogy of using a literal sword to teach cooperation and togetherness. I once read somewhere a quote that states...

"If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, take someone along"........ unknown.

The value and benefits of having good relationships on our lives cannot be over-emphasized. Good relationships are invaluable and very beneficial in times of need. We go far when we hae the support and shoulders of good people around us. There is enormous power in synergy.

Joshya Moore not only stepped up to be a mentor to Isaiah, he was like a father figure as well and he helped groom Isaiah into a responsible young man who was respected highly among his game loving friends.

The movie also teaches a deep lesson on forgiveness as we Joshua Moore treating the once upon a time "drunk driver" who had killed his only son. He even called him brother. That was deep for me.

I would recommend this movie over and over again to anyone who needs to step up to their plate and own it. Stop making excuses because it never helps anybody.

My review is a 9/10 for this movie, simply because it was a good one and very inspirational too.

Thank you all for reading... Shalom
