Marvel is a great film house, with a great variety of movies; joining them together they form a universe of stories that evoke in us different feelings at the same time that manage to form unique moments in our lives. Although they do not always manage to be good movies by themselves, it is an irrevocable fact that they are part of a great adventure that is told in bits and pieces, the initial phase is over, leaving with our very bitter endings for some and happy endings for others, but we are also left with certain stories that were left unfinished and new ones that will expand this great cinematic universe even more.

I think this is the first time I talk about a live-action superhero movie, and the privileged one this time is the incredible but not at all revolutionary Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Of this movie, right off the bat I have to say that, it's good but more of the same. And I don't know if I'm digging my own grave by saying that but it's my opinion. Obviously I have my reasons, which I'll explain in a brief moment but at this point in life and in relation to superhero cinema, I feel that the concept of an origins movie about a person is a bit of a discontinued one.

Although it contradicts me in such an obvious way, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is very good to watch but once thinking back I can't help but think of certain elements that, in my opinion, detract from this production. A moment ago I was criticizing the origins films, and that is that they all follow a series of unwritten rules that can be learned by heart; but it is not their fault since the objective is to make known the history of the character and for this part Shang-Chi does it very well.

The movie is not heavy with flashbacks and scenes of our protagonist's growth, to my surprise they introduce them in a very organic way and at the right time, and for a person who has a kind of love-hate with this kind of narrative moments, I was able to enjoy them. And speaking of origins, I was doing some research and, the story is told in a different way; I honestly liked how they changed it and even though I'm not a comic book lover, nor do I read them, I like this story of the character much more than the original one captured in the comics.

The plot is simple, it develops in a way and the main objective never loses focus. The movie, which I imagine almost everyone already knows, is about the son of a powerful conqueror with more than 100 years of life. One ordinary day he is attacked along with his friend by some people who want to steal his necklace, finding himself in a somewhat complicated situation he is forced to use his martial arts skills and reveal his true identity as a super-trained ninja assassin. Basically, in part, that would be its main plot, obviously it has a little more depth than my vain explaining but what matters is the intention, right?

The pace of the movie is very fast, when I finished it felt like everything happened in a moment but I think it's great that it's like that and it doesn't get heavy after 40 minutes. As for his characters, I think some of them had enough relevance in the movie to contribute what was needed but I do think Shang-Chi's sister was wasted in a bit, I don't know, the more I watched the movie the more I thought she would be more influential than she was but I'm not complaining since one of the post-credits scenes shows us how she takes control of the Mandarin's forces. On the other hand the character of Katy and Trevor Slattery work as a funny component for the movie, if Katy didn't have that intention then I'm sorry to say that it wasn't so, the jokes in Marvel are the jokes and they are always there but in this occasion I found them somewhat enjoyable.

The fights, the fights in Shang-Chi are a spectacle as expected, after all that's what motivates the movie. Every fight scene is so well done that I was able to feel the adrenaline and even a few punches at times, this is not only driven by the excellent work but also by the implementation of the special effects. The effects are a visual marvel, from the use of the rings to the dragons in the final fight, a visual marvel; I can only say that.

In summary, Shang-Chi is a good movie to introduce a character and give him a place in this great cinematic universe, although it has its things like the fact of being a film of origins and not giving enough importance to some characters, out of that I can say that it is a super entertaining movie, exciting, with amazing special effects and well choreographed fights. Recommendation: If you are a fan of martial arts, maybe there are better movies as far as that is concerned, give it a chance and if you are MCU lovers I don't know what you have done that you haven't seen it yet, in case you haven't done it.

Marvel es una gran casa cinematográfica, con una gran variedad de películas; juntándolas forman un universo de historias que evocan en nosotros diferentes sentimientos al mismo tiempo que logran forman momentos únicos en nuestras vidas. Aunque no siempre logran ser buenas películas por sí solas es un hecho irrevocable que forman parte una gran aventura que se va contando por pedacitos, la fase inicial ya terminó, dejando con nuestro finales muy amargos para unos y finales felices para otros pero también nos quedamos con ciertas historias que quedaron inconclusas y otras nuevas que expandirán aún más este gran universo cinematográfico.

Creo que esta es la primera que hablo sobre una película de superhéroes, en live-action, y la privilegiada en esta ocasión es la increíble pero para nada revolucionaría Shang-Chi y la Leyenda de los Diez Anillos. De esta película, de buenas a primeras tengo para decir que, es buena pero más de los mismos. Y no sé si estoy cavando mi propia tumba al decirlo pero es mi opinión. Obviamente tengo mis razones, que se las explicaré en un breve momento pero a esta alturas de la vida y en relación con el cine de superhéroes, siento que el concepto de una película de orígenes sobre un persona está un poco de descontinuado.

Aunque me contradiga de una manera tan evidente, Shang-Chi y la Leyenda de los Diez Anillos es muy buena para verla pero una vez pensando en retrospectiva no puedo evitar pensar en ciertos elementos que, a mí parecer les resta puntos a esta producción. Hace un momento criticaba las películas de orígenes, y es que de manera obligatoria todas siguen una serie de reglas no escritas que se pueden aprender de memoria; pero no es su culpa ya que el objetivo es dar a conocer la historia del personaje y por esta parte Shang-Chi lo hace muy bien.

La película no es pesada con los recuerdos y las escenas del crecimiento de nuestro protagonista, para mi sorpresa las introducen de manera muy orgánica y en el momento correcto, y para ser una persona que tiene una clase de amor-odio con este tipo de momentos narrativos, las pude disfrutar. Y hablando de orígenes, estuve investigando un poco y, la historia es contada de manera diferente; honestamente me gustó como la cambiaron y aunque no sea un amante de los comics, ni los lea, me gusta mucho más esta historia del personaje que la original plasma en los comics.

La trama es simple, se desarrolla de manera y el objetivo principal nunca pierde enfoque. La película, que me imagino ya casi todos saben, va sobre el hijo de un poderoso conquistador con más de 100 años de vida. Un día común y corriente es atacado junto a su amigo por unas personas que quieren robar su collar, viéndose en una situación un poco complicada es obligo a usar sus habilidades de artes marciales y revelar su verdadera identidad como un ninja asesino súper entrenado. Básicamente, en parte, eso sería su trama principal, obviamente tiene un poco más de profundidad que mi vana explicando pero lo que importa es la intención, ¿no?

El ritmo de la película es muy rápido, cuando termino sentí que todo había sucedido en un momento pero me parece genial que sea así y que no se haga pesada a los 40 minutos. En cuanto a sus personajes, creo algunos tuvieron suficiente relevancia en la película para aportar lo que era necesario pero sí creo que a la hermana de Shang-Chi la desperdiciaron en un poco, no sé, mientras más veía la película más pensaba en que sería más influyente de lo que fue pero no me quejo ya que una de las escenas postcréditos se nos muestra como ella toma el control las fuerzas del Mandarín. Por otra parte el personaje de Katy y Trevor Slattery funcionan como componente chistoso para la película, si Katy no tenía esa intención pues lamento decir que no fue así, los chistes en Marvel son los chistes y siempre están ahí pero en esta ocasión les encontré cierto gusto.

Las peleas, las peleas en Shang-Chi son un espectáculo como era de esperarse, después de todo eso es lo motivante de la película. Cada escena de pelea está tan bien realizada que fui capaces de sentir la adrenalina y hasta unos cuantos golpes en algunos momentos, esto no solo en impulsado por su excelente trabajo sino también por la implementación de los efectos especiales. Los efectos son una maravilla visual, desde el uso de los anillos hasta los dragones de la pelea final, toda una maravilla visual;
solamente puedo decir eso.

En resumen, Shang-Chi es una buena película para presentar a un personaje y darle lugar en este gran universo cinematográfico, aunque tiene sus cosas como el hecho de ser un film de orígenes y no darle la importancia suficiente a algunos personajes, fuera de eso puedo decir que es una película súper entretenida, emocionante, con unos efectos especiales sorprendentes y coreografías de peleas bien realizadas. Recomendación: Si son fan de las artes marciales, talvez hayan mejores películas en cuanto a eso se refiere, denle una oportunidad y si son amantes de MCU no sé qué han hecho que no la han visto todavía, en caso de que no lo hayan hecho.
