The importance of mother tongue
I am a Bangladeshi, I see Bangladesh and Bangla language as a part of my life. I live in an independent country. Bengali is our mother tongue. In 1971, after a long nine-month war with Pakistan, we gained independence in exchange for the blood of three million martyrs. The main purpose of independence was to establish mother tongue Bengali as our state language. We were able to do that.
