Short Description
"The Walking Dead" is a post-apocalyptic TV series based on the comic series with same name by Robert Kirkman. This is an American series airing 1st episode on 31 October 2010 and has aired 10 Season ( 147 Episodes) till now.
Plot: Every thing was going as usual with police deputy Rick Grimes. But during an encounter, he gets shot and goes to coma. After 3 months, when he wakes up he finds himself in a empty hospital. He goes out. But no, he can't find anybody. Suddenly he sees a old woman, with half body.
This is how the series starts. Rick finds some real people including his wife, son and colleague. But surviving gets harder.
Walkers: Whoever dies, will become a walker. Walker means dead man who have only the sense of sound and vision. The main target of the walkers is anything alive. If anybody gets bitten by a walker, he will become one of them in a few hours. A walker won't die until its brain is destroyed.
Though 99% of the human have became walkers, walkers are not the main enemy for the rest of humans. Humans are the real enemy to each other as the food is limited. People forms community and each community has its own principles. Maybe some communities will seem good to you and some bad but actually everybody wants to survive.Only the fittest can survive.
Main Characters
Selecting the main characters is really hard as most of the characters die. But this is why the series unparalleled. But I'm trying to mention my favorite characters.
Rick Grimes
Rick is typically calm, smart, and a good friend and father, but he is often stubborn and cling to his strong personal moral code, which has resulted in numerous bad calls and extra stress within the group.The series centers around him and he is the leader his community.
Daryl Dixon
Daryl Dixon has a both mentally and physically strong personality. He is loyal to his people. Despite his hardened personality, he has emotional side also.
His fighting skills are extraordinary.
Carl Grimes
He is the first son of Rick Grimes And the only son of Lori Grimes. This may seem confusing to you. Few years after Lori dies during the delivery of Judith, Michonne gives birth to the second son of Rick Grimes, "R.J Grimes". Carl was shy and reserved in the first season, but his characters develop as a bold personality soon.
Maggie Rhee
Maggie Rhee, wife of Glenn Rhee is another great character in "The Walking Dead" series. She is an intelligent, caring, and brave woman. She is shown to be a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother. She led the community of Hiltop for a long time.
Negan
Negan is often seen with his baseball bat named "Lucille". Many of the fans of "The Walking Dead" hated this character first for his cruelty, but now I think he is in the list of favorite characters of every fans.
Judith Grimes
Judith is the daughter of Lori Grimes and Shane Walsh (Colleague of Rick). But Rick raises her as his daughter. Judith is a kind, caring and intelligent young girl. But this little girl is very good with weapons and fighting with walkers. She may win your heart.
I could not give more description about the characters as it may spoil the series if anybody is or will watch it.
My Favorite Character: Daryl is my most favorite character. I like his loyalty, strong but soft personality and his fighting skills. Negan and Judith are second in my favorite list.
Why Is It My Favorite Series?
It is not like that I love zombie related shows. Actually the world shown in "The Walking Dead" is no different than ours. People are ready to fight others to save own people. Some people's priority is "Save Myself First". They betray their community to Survive. Another thing that I like about this series is anybody may die anytime. I feel bad when my favourite characters die, but it is the greatness of this series.

The Walking Dead received 842,476 IMDB votes with an average of 8.2/10 rating. Last 3 Seasons was a little bit slow and it affected the rating.
