In my recent blog, I shared my self-reflection toward financial freedom in 2025. I only shared an analysis of why I need to achieve it, but I haven't shared why I need to do that. If you know my financial stance, I consider myself poor. Most of us, probably. Maybe most of us are writing here as it is our bread and butter.
I might be late for this trend, but my vision for 2025 is to get financial freedom. Aside from that, my vision is to be financially responsible. Both aspects are entirely different, but their success underlies consistency. Now that I have shared my mission and vision, how would I achieve them?
Invest In Assets
When you say assets, it doesn't only reflect the equipment you use, like a laptop, computer, or cellphone. As long it generates money for you and allows you to earn money, it is considered an asset. I have learned this notion from financial experts. Although others consider it as an expense, I would still consider it as a part of my asset.
For example, your looks are considered as your asset. If you look good while showing a product on a camera, they will stop immediately and support you. My phone is regarded as an asset as well. It will only be a liability if it doesn't generate an income. Health is wealth; take that quote, for example.
Budget Wisely
So far, I have already established a goal to achieve this matter. My goal is to take P300 as my "Wants." Then, I will spend my hard-earned money on sunscreens, vitamins, and soap and tag it as a "Need." I will also deduct money to get a contribution for my mom's bill if it exceeds P1,000.00.
I also need to save P20 each time I see it and put it in a safe place. Aside from that, I will also keep P200 monthly for my church's Thanksgiving! This saving goal is meant for church purposes. Giving money is mandatory in our religion, but it is not mandatory that it's the exact money that you will contribute.
After that, the remaining money will go to my GoTyme and BDO. They are shared as half, and they share a different purpose. BDO is for the long term, while GoTyme is for the short term. My BDO account is for emergencies, while GoTyme is for my assets. I will share my goal assets in my next blog.
Avoid Unnecessary Spending
Here is the goal that I wanted to achieve. To save money from my uncle's allowance, I will only bring P150.00. The P60.00 is for my fare, and I must spend P90.00 for food. If it exceeds, then it won't be economical. I will stop going to convenience stores to buy a Buy 1 Take 1 coffee unless I have exams. Moreover, I will stop eating on Jollibee unless I have finished an exam. I will also not forget to bring rice and avoid buying from the vendor. If I want to lose weight, I won't spend any more on unnecessary foods.
Post More On Your Social Media
When I say posting more on your social media, it doesn't mean sharing memes. I want to elevate my professional and digital presence for the sake of greater value. So far, I have partially marketed myself using word-of-mouth. My classmates appointed me as a Communication student because I know how to write. Then, my virtual friend wants to expand our partnership by being her ghostwriter on LinkedIn. Now that I have successfully marketed myself, I want to take it to the next level and promote it myself.
- TikTok Affiliate: As a TikTok affiliate for over two years, I hate to admit I was too inactive. From now on, I promised myself that I would film 2-3 videos without classes.
- LinkedIn: This is one of my greatest projects for 2025. I want to use this platform to showcase my work and present myself while applying for internships.
Avoid Resting Too Much
For me, it's okay to rest as long it doesn't disrupt your goals. I rest a few minutes, but sometimes I exceed minutes to hours. Well, I am glad that I slowly avoided it. Take what I finished two days ago as an example. Before I review, I finished first my virtual friend's task since I have other duties in the afternoon. After I reviewed my learning materials, I went to the animal bite center for my last dose of anti-rabies. My day didn't end with that since I still went to school to take my exam. After I arrived home, I rested a bit and decided to review. That's how productive I am daily.
Conclusion
That's all for this article. I might continue this article after a week or a month.
