Let’s talk about Frozen and how it’s a good example of how to deal with and not deal with loneliness.
Hi. I’m JD, a statistician and music therapist offering statistically significant support.
In Do You Want to Build a Snowman, loneliness defines Elsa, so she secludes and ignores Anna. Anna doesn’t let the situation define her and takes control. She talks to the paintings, rides a bike in the hall, and makes a game out of staring at the grandfather clock. She’s in control. It’s hard on both of them, but Anna weakens it by maintaining that she has control over the situation. She uses active coping skills and keeps her self-confidence and self-esteem high. Elsa makes it worse by giving into fear.
