Here is a really rotten mushroom, I believe this is an old green russula. The slugs seem to love extra rotten mushrooms, maybe they get a fermented sort of alcohol off of them.

"maybe they get a fermented sort of alcohol" - i bet they should for rotten apples or berries for this (cause mushroom dont contain sugar!)my assumption -- it is a suffle, a delicacy. here I agree with @bambuka.
