Its that time of year when all sorts of magical things are popping up out of the ground and look what I've stumbled upon, none other than the infamous liberty cap (Psilocybe semilanceata) or as it's more commonly known the "magic mushroom", they were all over the place and growing in sizable clusters and anyone inclined to be picking them would have had a field day (pun intended!). I've also found a couple of Fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) growing around the silver birch although one of the pictures is pretty poor...sorry.
A large cluster of Liberty caps
There were more just below this picture, you can see one in the bottom of the picture
Some specimens with varying freshness
Another cluster
Massive Fly agaric
Looks like a snooker ball
Those are all of the pictures I have so far, the temperatures have dropped a bit last few days so there may not be long left for these to bloom. I hope you enjoyed them.
intresting, promising finds! this gigantic Fly agaric maybe enough for a soup, to feed a big family!
🤸
you would probably not want to feed your family a soup made of either of these mushrooms, might leave them feeling a bit odd lol.
heheh... well, not all of the family :P
actually, I foraged some this September, and dried up a little jar for personal usage. yes, its a toxic mushroom, but it has some great non-disputandable medicinal qualities, you know.
Yea in small doses psilocybin is fantastic for productivity and mental health. I sorta put myself off them by taking stupid doses when I was younger, fun at the time but the thought of it now...no thanks haha.
well, what else I can say?.. @x-rain, welcome another good fellow into the club :D
😎
Ha! A snooker ball, what da hell!
It was crazy both types were everywhere I looked, if I was 15 years younger I would have been going home with a bag full haha.
