RE: A Mossy Neighbourhood

Nice and clear photos. I remember that you live high up in the north! And I imagine that you may have been out taking photos recently? The weather is out of order. Here in Sweden where I live, it hasn't snowed in many years. There are a few snowdrifts that melt away the next day. Here you can pick winter mushrooms. I'm thinking mainly of funnel chanterelles. Looking at your photos, it looks as if it were Sweden!

This is neat that you find similarities between Sweden and British Columbia (BC). I took the pictures in December, but this is how the forest looks today as well. Southwestern BC is very warm compared to the rest of Canada. Because of warm currents off the Pacific, there's a lush rainforest all year round. We don't get a lot of snow in coastal areas, but this year, we haven't had any snow in the lower elevations like downtown where I live. Plenty of snow on the peaks though. Picking winter mushrooms would be a fun activity (if you know how to identify fungi :).
