Flowers get all the praise in the natural world, but mushrooms are very photogenic. They are particularly impressive when one gets up close to see the macro details. It’s like a fairy world opens up before the lens. Not all fungi are beautiful, there are some that look somewhat strange, but they're always full of mystery and intrigue.
I don't know much about fungi in general, so I have to rely on apps to identify the ones I come across. It's a fun exercise but likely inaccurate in many cases, especially given the variety of mushrooms out there that look very much alike to an untrained eye. In the following images, I post the results by Google Lens.
False Turkey-tail
G Lens thought this was a ball of dough for making pastries 🤷♂️
Reishi mushroom... maybe?
Red-Belted conk
Thank you for coming along and exploring this mushroom world.

I know quite a lot about mushrooms, without bragging!
I consider mushrooms to be our original medicine cabinet!
The Turky tails you show are incredibly rich in minerals and vitamins. Mushrooms are like a kinder egg. many surprises. Strengthening, healing, bactericidal. I have both birch tick and shaga at home!👌
This is phenomenal knowledge to have. Mushrooms have so many great qualities and have played a key role in our cultures. I will have to be more diligent in my record keeping to keep track of my findings. Thank you!
Some of the mushrooms are very large, the last ones look very strange. Amazing photography
It has been a wet fall and winter season, so the conditions have been ideal for growth. They're so weird and neat.
What an absolute marvel those mushroom formations, nature never ceases to amaze me!!!! Thanks for those pictures!
Nature comes up with some interesting combinations of shapes, textures, and colours. So much goes into attaining a certain form, including sunlight and moisture. Pure art!
