A Walk, A Surprise, and A Gorgeous Turkey Tail Fungus

Hey fellow @fungilovers! What’s good, everyone? Back again to share something super cool i spotted earlier when i was taking a walk right outside our house and guess what? I found this amazing fungus!

So picture this i was just strolling along breathing in that fresh outdoor air when something caught my eye near the old tree by our gate. At first i thought it was just a weird patch of bark but when i got closer… whoa. It was this gorgeous fungus all spread out like a little natural masterpiece. The way the sunlight hit it made it glow and just had to stop and stare for a minute.

You know that feeling when you find something unexpected and it makes your whole day better? That’s exactly what happened. I sat down on the grass right there not even caring if my pants got a little dirty and just looked at it. It had these tiny wispy edges that looked like they were dancing in the breeze and the colors were insane mix of soft browns hints of green, and even a touch of cream. It was like nature’s own painting right there in my backyard.

I wish could have taken a photo to show you guys, but i left my phone inside. But trust me it was something else. The texture was so unique too not too slimy not too rough just kind of velvety when i gently touched one of the edges (don’t worry i made sure it was not poisonous first!). It was growing in this perfect little cluster almost like it knew it was supposed to be there adding a little magic to that ordinary spot by our house..

Walking around our neighborhood has always been one of my favorite things to do but finding this fungus made it extra special. It’s like… no matter how many times you walk the same path there is always something new to discover. Nature really is full of surprises isn't it? i’m already planning to go back tomorrow to see how it is doing maybe it will have grown more, or maybe i will find another one nearby.

To all my fellow fungus hunters out there keep your eyes open when you’re out and about. You never know when you will stumble upon something beautiful right in your own backyard. This little find just reminded me to slow down and appreciate the small things and honestly that’s exactly what we all need sometimes.
