#Fungi Friday 🍄 🍄 🍄 - A Weird and Amazing Images in Old Polypores

in Fungi Lovers4 years ago (edited)

These are last year's Polypores! The first species I found in one place, very overgrown, it is clear that people have not been here for a long time ...
These mushrooms are so old that they began to split into pieces, and in the heart of one of them, you can see a human ear)
Ear

The next mushroom of the same species reminded me of some kind of monkey! I don't know, maybe with the brow ridges, or maybe I'm just impressionable)😄

In the third mushroom, I can clearly see the python Kaa, from "The Jungle Book" ... And it seems to me he smiles) But what, you see?

The next one is not so obvious (perhaps because of the angle), but in my opinion it is some kind of Shark ...

This is a different angle of the so-called monkey, can you see the face of the Wild Boar above it? This is a bark pattern ...

Elsewhere, completely different Polypores grow, more like UFOs! If they grow freely, then they grow into an ideal round shape) Once I made an extensive post about these huge beauties ...

But if something interferes with them, these mushrooms (as well as the others) flow around the obstacles, creating bizarre shapes! This example looks like a Heart, for example!

Maybe it will be clearer this way)
img_20200419_123856.jpg

They grow for decades, increasing the growth rate in favorable weather, and stopping in unfavorable ... Therefore, they, like trees, have annual rings!

This one is still small, and grows on a fallen tree, but the layers are still visible)

By the way, this mushroom, if it grew on a living tree, and then the tree fell, then its next layers unfold 90 degrees in order to grow further parallel to the ground ... And this is create amazing twisted shapes (but unfortunately I did not find such pictures in my archive (((...) But with clearly visible annual rings, there are a lot of photographs)
img_20200419_123913.jpg

This one, for example, looks like a layer cake) And the layers were superimposed on one another, trying to overtake each other ...)

In general, discover the wonderful world of mushrooms !!! (Those who do not yet) And study their forms, habitats, breeding methods, and I assure you you will not be bored!
That's all for today, thank you for reaching the end! I would be grateful for any support!)
Take care of yourself and your loved ones ...

Sort:

The top few look like ancient ninja turtles heads. Just tie a colored bandana around their foreheads lol.

Exactly! and I wondered what they still remind me of)))
By the way, do you see the very first photo? I can't see it (

Hmm it looks like the very first one is blank for me too.

In ecency it shown! but in HIVE not((

some corruption in the blockchain...

So shouldn't I try to add this photo again?

via https://peakd.com -- I see the cover photo.
and it looks great! on the 1st photo I see a human ear ;))))
those aged tree bracketing fungi arent photo-friendly and not the best thing to shoot, but you did a good job, capturing them. thanks for sharing - I nominate your post for #OCD curation.

and Happy #FungiFriday to you! gonna check my folders what to share today.

Thanks a lot for your support!
Happy #FungiFriday!

I'll save it for next time, if there is one!)
And if needs faces from nature, then i can pick up for several more posts)

This ear fungus looks really weird and I've never seen it ....

I've never seen such species too!

I was finally able to follow you ... the failures of the platform unnerve me.

I noticed this is not uncommon ...
Thanks again for your support!

what?.. what happened? 1st time I hear that 'follow' button does not work exactly as it was designed... hmmm?

Well I followed him from the peack d interface and it did not reflect that he was already in the ranks of his followers, so I pressed again and it did not matter, but there were no changes but... in hive ... yep, the change was applied, then it seemed like a game... follow, unfollow, follow - unfollow etc ...

Yay! 🤗

i've never seen fungus that could hear, that is a first for me. maybe some can even talk

I will try next time to find a talking mushroom)

maybe some can even talk

SURE THING! you may check my post for #fungirelay
https://peakd.com/hive-166168/@qwerrie/fl-my-1-post
and you will see, my babygirl is listening to what Porcini mushrooms tell her.

there sure are a lot of strange things going on over there in St Petersburg these days. first shadow people taking the bus now talking mushrooms. i wonder what they said. i hope they weren't cursing out the young girl for getting picked and soon to be eaten.

no, no, quite on the contrary! judging on her smiling face -- it might be some sort of a funny joke!

:D

now, looking at this foto, I understand you you have got that Bleeding Red Mushroom Valentine Heart from previous post! haha.
