Welcome to my blog, and for today, I'd like to share the experience my mom had with my sister and her friends when they went for a talent contest.

I'm not a parent yet, but I would just like to share my Mom's experience on this particular event. Everyone
in my family actually was nostalgic about it and my sis was particularly very sad about it. Hearing my Mom's side was 🥺😭(words can't explain)... because both her and my dad spent a lot of money....
I decided to write a blog, or an experience essay about everything from my Mom's perspective.
"Descargo de responsabilidad rápido: Todavía no soy padre, pero me gustaría compartir la experiencia de mi madre en este evento en particular. De hecho, todos en mi familia lo recordamos con nostalgia, y mi hermana, en particular, estaba muy triste. Escuchar la versión de mi madre fue increíble 🥺😭(no tengo palabras para describirlo)... porque tanto ella como mi padre gastaron mucho dinero... Decidí escribir un blog o un ensayo sobre mi experiencia desde la perspectiva de mi madre."

It was honestly a bittersweet experience, but I'm so glad that my daughter did what she loved to do.
We made a lot of expenses as regards the contest; the accommodation, costumes,
Hair&makeup to finally the feeding&voting processes.
"Sinceramente, fue una experiencia agridulce, pero me alegro mucho de que mi hija hiciera lo que amaba. Gastamos mucho en el concurso: alojamiento, vestuario, peluquería y maquillaje, y finalmente, la alimentación y la votación."
They really had fun while performing, but they were very tense, too, so as not to get kicked out from the contest.
It was their third time going for a contest and not getting any prize.
"Se divirtieron mucho mientras actuaban, pero también estaban muy tensos para no ser expulsados del concurso. Era la tercera vez que participaban en un concurso y no conseguían ningún premio."
The first 2 times were actually similar. They were called to represent the LGA of the state while unknown to us, they had already brought a different set of people to represent. But in the long run, "the representatives" failed terribly but my daughter and her friends caught the eye of the the judges and the crowd at large. When they had finally won, they gave the win to the initial group of dancers of the same LGA, and my daughter and her friends were heartbroken. It was actually the first time that I had seen her cry to me in her mid-teens, and that made me very sad and furious as not only did they fraud them, but the coordinator seized their allowance and sent them back. But I was happy that they were recognized in everything even though not publicly by announcements.

"Las dos primeras veces fueron similares. Los convocaron para representar a la Asociación de Baile Local (AGL) del estado, aunque no lo sabíamos, ya habían traído a un grupo diferente de personas. Pero a la larga, los representantes fracasaron estrepitosamente, pero mi hija y sus amigas captaron la atención de los jueces y del público. Cuando finalmente ganaron, le dieron el triunfo al grupo inicial de bailarines de la misma AGL, y mi hija y sus amigas quedaron desconsoladas. De hecho, era la primera vez que la veía llorar conmigo, siendo adolescente, y eso me entristeció y enfureció mucho, ya que no solo los estafaron, sino que el coordinador les quitó su paga y los envió de vuelta. Pero me alegró que los reconocieran en todo, aunque no públicamente con anuncios."

This current time, they performed and were recognized, but they did not win.
It was heart-wrenching, to say the least, but I was so glad she took it well. She cried bitterly, but I comforted her.
"Esta vez, actuaron y recibieron reconocimiento, pero no ganaron. Fue desgarrador, como mínimo, pero me alegré mucho de que lo tomara bien. Lloró desconsoladamente, pero la consolé."
When she said, "Why don't we ever win?" It broke me, but then I had to remind her that "Winning doesn't always mean being the first. It means doing better than you have before. "
I'm so happy that she's still dancing, though, and she's growing on her social media.
This might even be part of the success story. Who knows, I tell her.
I'm so glad she also told me some fun things they got to do and new people she got to meet.
"Cuando dijo: "¿Por qué nunca ganamos?", me destrozó, pero luego tuve que recordarle que "Ganar no siempre significa ser el primero. Significa hacerlo mejor que antes". Me alegra mucho que siga bailando y que esté creciendo en sus redes sociales. Quizás esto incluso forme parte de su éxito. Quién sabe, le digo. Me alegra mucho que también me haya contado algunas cosas divertidas que hicieron y que conoció a gente nueva."
I'll keep praying and encouraging her.
When she falls, I'd be there helping get to her feet to walk again. I'd be there every step of the way 🥲✨.
"Seguiré rezando y animándola. Cuando se caiga, estaré ahí para ayudarla a levantarse. Estaré ahí en cada paso del camino."
Reading from my Mom's perspective was so beautiful. It removed some guilt from sister too.
I really love my mom for her love and support.
