Domestic violence, which is considered to be an act of preying on an intimated individual either at friendship or marriage level. Both genders are exposed to this act but women are mostly the victim.
I could remember vividly during my childhood days when i will always hear some noise from our flat neighbour revealing how incompatible they were.

The husband would return from work and start shouting on the wife for whichever reason, and on a long run it graduated into a more serious thing like hearing a crying voice, shattering of objects etc. This continued for a very long period of time, the wife's face was no longer as bright as it used to be, she looked unhappy always. At some point, in the middle of the night we could hear sounds of falling objects like that of a broken ceramic plate and after some time, the wife was screaming words like "you must kill me today". So everyone in the neighbourhood rushed out to check on them as the wife's face and body had been badly disfigured.

But what i found very difficult to forget from that night's event was the wife's reason for the conflict, she said the husband wants to be incharge of everything, that nothing from her was acceptable, that she didn't have the privilege to contribute to the affairs of her own family not even their only child's affair, which made her feel like a slave in her own home and any time she tries to advice her husband on these issues or say a NO to him regarding anything, what she gets in return was physical beatings, emotional ill words and more. From that moment I actually learnt that so many things are to be considered when it comes to having a life partner regarding the havoc domestic violence causes to a bright home and/or a bright future.

I personally think that in a relationship, understanding, communication, transparency, honesty, and most of all respecting your partner's interest is of high importance as we all say NO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
