Sunday was a special day; it was December 21st, and here in Venezuela, the arrival of the Christmas spirit is commemorated. So, this day couldn't go unnoticed, and my daughters and I went to the city's tabernacle for an activity in honor of the day.
We arrived and there was a space for photos, and guess what? We took pictures with the characters from the Nativity scene... After that, they showed us where to sit; as we were being lined up, I ended up with my girls at the back, there were a lot of people...

There were many presentations; among them were: a choreographed dance by young people, a song by the women's network, a children's choreographed dance, an acrostic poem spelling out the word "Christmas" by children, rhythmic gymnastic movements by a teenager, and a play about the birth of Jesus.

The greatest gift came next: words of wisdom from the speaker, who explained that Christmas is about joy, family togetherness, buying clothes, home repairs, painting walls, and giving gifts. However, the true essence of Christmas has been distorted, becoming more about consumerism.
It's time to reverse this situation and embrace what it truly means: sharing with loved ones, fostering family bonding, singing Christmas carols, and preparing traditional holiday meals.
After that heartfelt message, they sang and gave gifts to the children up to 10 years old. My daughters were delighted with their presents and grateful for the thoughtful gesture.

El domingo fue un día especial; ya estamos en el día número 21 de diciembre; aquí en el calendario de efemérides de Venezuela se conmemora la llegada del espíritu de la Navidad. Así que no puede pasar desapercibido este día, pues mis hijas y yo fuimos al tabernáculo de la ciudad a una actividad en honor al día.
Llegamos y había un espacio para las fotos y adivinen qué, nos tomamos las fotos con los personajes del nacimiento del Niño Jesús... Luego de ahí nos indicaron dónde sentarnos; al pasar, quedé junto a mis niñas al final, mucha gente...

Hubo muchas presentaciones; entre ellas destacan: coreografía de jóvenes, canto de la red de mujeres, coreografía de niños, acróstico de la palabra navidad por niños, a su vez movimientos rítmicos de gimnasia por una adolescente, obra de teatro en relación al nacimiento del Niño Jesús.

Vino el regalo más grande, que fueron palabras de sabiduría en donde el conferencista explicaba que la navidad es alegría, unión familiar, compra de ropa, reparación de la casa, pintura de paredes, regalos... Sin embargo, se ha desvirtuado la verdadera esencia de la navidad se ha ido más al consumismo...
Es tiempo de revertir esa situación e ir a lo que significa, que es compartir con los seres queridos, buscar el acercamiento familiar, cantar canciones navideñas, realización de comidas de la época...
Después de ese mensaje emotivo, cantaron y les obsequiaron a los niños hasta los 10 años regalos. Mis hijas felices por sus obsequios dados, agradecidas por el detalle.
