Teaching our children value is very important because we leave in a world where a lot of children lack good character or manner.

Parents are failing in there duties, As a teacher I meet a lot of kids in school who are manner less to there parents, teachers and even there fellow student.

Thinking of what a parent told me, some parents think training a child starts from the school, no it certainly don't, training a child begins at home.

Children pick up early how to deal with others by watching parents, teachers and other adults, so we need to be good models to them.

THINGS WE NEED TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN TO DO

(1) TEACH THEM WHAT'S RIGHT AND WRONG.
Some children don't know what's right or wrong, good or bad. We need to teach them, as parents don't look away or over look them when they do something wrong, don't say leave them they are kids, we are responsible for them, so we need to teach and correct them.

(2) TEACH THEM BY PRACTICING WHAT YOU PREACH
Children learn by what they see and experience, children will see through you if your walk is different from your talk.

They notice what you do, how you relate with others, do you apologize when your wrong, how is your voice level when angry, do you forgive, all this are noticed by kids so be very careful.

(3) TEACH THEM HOW TO BE CONCERN ABOUT OTHERS
Show genuine concern and care for the basic needs of others, children will fellow your behavior.
Teach them how to support and how to be charitable and how to give to others and also how to volunteer.

(4) ENCOURAGE THEM
Be involved in there lives, create time for your kids, ask questions, know what there strength and weakness are, know there friends, encourage them, speak positively to them, appreciate them and tell them they are loved by you.

FINALLY,

Do what you preach because they are watching, we as parents or guidance have an opportunity to show values by example.

Remember! what you do can positively or negatively affect our children today, tomorrow and in the future.
