Hace 3 días decidí darle mango al bebé.
Estamos en temporada de mango y se vuelve muy accesible alimentarnos con ésta fruta.
3 days ago I decided to give mango to the baby.
We are in mango season and it becomes very accessible to feed us with this fruit.
Me hicieron el favor de picarme un cachete del mango y se lo cortaron como caparazón de tortuga (así le dice, la hija de una amiga)
They did me the favor of chopping off a cheek of my mango and cut it like a turtle shell (that's what a friend's daughter calls it).
Se lo coloque en las manos, no quiso agarrarlo, sentía la textura y colocaba cara de repugnancia.
Se lo coloque en la boca y comenzó a chupar el mango.
Agarro un cuadrito, chupo hasta arrancarlo, hizo una arcada y botó el pedazo.
Continuó chupando desperado hasta llorar, se lo coloque varias veces en la boca de nuevo y no quería, únicamente lloraba.
I put it in his hands, he didn't want to grab it, he felt the texture and made a disgusted face.
I put it in his mouth and he began to suck on the handle.
He grabbed a small square, sucked until he pulled it out, gagged and threw the piece away.
He continued sucking desperately until he cried, I put it in his mouth again several times and he didn't want to, he just cried.
Cuando logré ver, se había comido más de la mitad del mango.
By the time I could see, more than half of the mango had been eaten.
Terminé lavando sus manos y su boca contenta de la reacción que tuvo con el mango. Él estaba muy felíz con su sonrisa expresaba la emoción que sentía.
I ended up washing his hands and mouth happy with the reaction he had with the mango. He was very happy with his smile expressing the excitement he felt.
Lo alimento sentado en mis piernas o en el coche mientras paso a paso le voy comprando lo que necesita.
I feed him sitting on my lap or in the car while step by step I buy him what he needs.
Y así el mango ha sido nuestra puerta para conocer el mundo y sus alimentos.
And so the mango has been our gateway to the world and its foods.
