Saludos madres y padres de Hive, hace ya 10 días que mi hijo Rafael está de vacaciones, así que obviamente nos hemos ya acostumbrado de nuevo a la tranquilidad de no levantarnos a primera hora y de poder disfrutar del tiempo juntos, pero esta no es una relajación descuidada, pues tenemos un acuerdo con respecto a su educación, esto es no dejar pasar el tiempo sin que se haga una actividad, por eso de lunes a viernes hace una copia o un dictado de un tema que yo selecciono de un libro o revista en físico, hace la lectura en voz alta del mismo texto, repasamos la comprensión así como a ortografía y la forma de su escritura, por otro lado debe realizar algunos ejercicios matemáticos acordes a su nivel, estas actividades no le quitan mucho tiempo, pero son importantísimas.
Greetings to all the parents of Hive! It's been 10 days since my son Rafael started his vacation, so we've obviously gotten used to the peace and quiet of not having to get up early and being able to enjoy time together. But this isn't a careless relaxation, because we have an agreement regarding his education: we don't let time pass without him doing an activity. So, from Monday to Friday, he copies or dictates a topic that I select from a physical book or magazine. He reads the same text aloud, and we review his comprehension, spelling, and handwriting. On the other hand, he has to do some math exercises appropriate to his level. These activities don't take up much time, but they are very important.
Una de las cosas que sucede frecuentemente con los niños es que no construyen hábitos, esto no se genera de la noche a la mañana por lo tanto es difícil cuando no hay constancia, por eso motivo aunque estemos de naciones no permito que el pierda lo que ya ha construido, el a veces le da un poco de pereza, pero aun así sabe que la recompensa es grande, pues le resto del día lo tiene para relajarse, jugar e incluso ver una serie conmigo.
One of the things that often happens with children is that they don't build habits; this doesn't happen overnight, so it's difficult when there's no consistency. That's why, even though we're away from home, I don't let him lose what he's already built. Sometimes he's a little lazy, but he knows the reward is great, because he has the rest of the day to relax, play, and even watch a show with me.
A veces compramos platanitos fritos y mi mamá nos prepara algún bocadillo para nuestros momentos de relajación viendo las series, aunque no lo pareciera considero que esto es muy valioso y no siento que es holgazanear, seguimos manteniendo en práctica las actividades académicas aunque no haya escuela y al mismo tiempo estamos disfrutando de tiempo de calidad en casa, se que cuando comience de nuevo las clases en enero el no va a cansarse de escribir, no va tener problemas con sus actividades, mantendrá su mente atenta en matemáticas, y al mismo tiempo llevara su cabeza fresca debido al descanso, por supuesto que nuestra mascota Linda también nos acompaña es eso ultimo 😊
Sometimes we buy plantain chips and my mom makes us snacks for when we relax watching TV shows. Even though it might not seem like it, I think this is really valuable and I don't feel like it's laziness. We're still keeping up with his schoolwork even though there's no school, and at the same time, we're enjoying quality time at home. I know that when classes start again in January, he won't get tired of writing, he won't have any problems with his assignments, he'll keep his mind sharp in math, and at the same time, he'll have a clear head because of the break. Of course, our pet Linda is also there for us in that last part 😊
