Hablando del mes de octubre, ayer inicio el nuevo año escolar para primaria por lo que la mayoría de los padres ya andan en el corre corre rutinario de la época escolar, En casa solo mi sobrino Mateo David está asistiendo al cole porque está cursando su tercer grado de primaria y básicamente en esta semana solo hacen juegos y actividades de motivación para luego entrar en lo que son las clases.
Speaking of the month of October, yesterday started the new school year for elementary school so most parents are already in the routine running of the school season, at home only my nephew Mateo David is attending school because he is in his third grade and basically this week they only do games and motivational activities and then enter what are the classes.
Mientras tanto Héctor y Cristian que son mis hijos, continúan en casa a la espera del turno de cada uno; Cristian será el siguiente en incorporarse a clases el próximo lunes siete del mes en curso, ya que va a cursar cuarto año de bachillerato y Héctor será el último en entrar a clases debido a que aún no se inscribe en la universidad, sin embargo; hay un ambiente ansioso en casa por el comienzo de las clases y esto no es nada nuevo porque siempre sucede cuando se acerca el primer día de clases.
Meanwhile Hector and Cristian, who are my sons, continue at home waiting for their turn; Cristian will be the next one to start classes on Monday the seventh of this month, since he will be in his fourth year of high school and Hector will be the last one to start classes because he is not yet enrolled in college, however; there is an anxious atmosphere at home for the beginning of classes and this is nothing new because it always happens when the first day of classes is approaching.
Debido a ello, nos estamos preparando según nuestras posibilidades económicas para comenzar con el pie derecho este año escolar, por lo que salimos al centro de la ciudad a recorrer las diferentes tiendas para comenzar a hacer las compras más necesarias a requerir por los chicos. Lo bueno de que Cristian esté en el liceo es que la lista de útiles no es tan extensa como la de primaria, aquí se necesita lo básico como; libretas, sacapuntas, borrador, lápiz, hojas, colores y pega. A medida que transcurran los días, cada profesor pedirá lo que necesite para su materia, si es necesario. Del resto ya será sacar copias, elaborar mapas, láminas y realizar trabajos definidos, según sea el caso.
Because of this, we are preparing ourselves according to our economic possibilities to start this school year on the right foot, so we went downtown to visit the different stores to start making the most necessary purchases required by the children. The good thing about Cristian being in high school is that the list of supplies is not as extensive as in elementary school, here you need the basics such as; notebooks, pencil sharpener, eraser, pencil, sheets, colors and glue. As the days go by, each teacher will ask for what he/she needs for his/her subject, if necessary. The rest will be to make copies, elaborate maps, plates and carry out defined works, as the case may be.
Lo bueno de nuestra ciudad es que es pequeña, sin embargo, hay bastantes negocios, especialmente asiáticos donde venden cualquier cantidad de cosas entre ellos, útiles escolares, así que nos dimos nuestro postín revisando las tiendas para que los muchachos vieran bien lo que realmente deseaban comprar. Hay una gran variedad de útiles este año que, en comparación con los anteriores, no había, los bolsos con cualquier motivo, especialmente para los más pequeños. Claro que mis hijos están en una edad bastante lejos de querer uno con héroes o algo así, ellos prefieren algo más serio.
The good thing about our city is that it is small, however, there are quite a few stores, especially Asian ones where they sell any number of things, among them, school supplies, so we took our time going through the stores so that the kids could see what they really wanted to buy. There is a great variety of supplies this year that, compared to previous years, there were no bags with any motif, especially for the little ones. Of course my kids are at an age quite far from wanting one with heroes or something like that, they prefer something more serious.
Las libretas las conseguimos con costura y con resortes, de una materia, de tres materias y hasta de seis materias, grandes y pequeñas; los motivos son muchos y muy lindos, los precios también varían según la calidad de los útiles, existen muchas ofertas que se adaptan al bolsillo del venezolano lo cual me parece muy bien porque nuestra economía está bastante fracturada.
The notebooks are available with sewing and with springs, of one material, three materials and even six materials, large and small; the motifs are many and very nice, the prices also vary according to the quality of the tools, there are many offers that adapt to the Venezuelan's pocket which I think is very good because our economy is quite fractured.
Otras de las cosas que también estuvimos buscando fueron los telmos térmicos que están muy de moda y son muy prácticos porque mantienen la temperatura del líquido a consumir lo cual es excelente porque a los chicos no les agradan las bebidas calientes y claro, los entiendo porque es desagradable tomar agua caliente, pero con la mala suerte que se suspendieron el servicio eléctrico, los puntos comenzaron a fallar y fue imposible adquirir los telmos.
Other things that we were also looking for were the thermal telmos that are very fashionable and very practical because they maintain the temperature of the liquid to be consumed which is excellent because the kids do not like hot drinks and of course, I understand them because it is unpleasant to drink hot water, but with the bad luck that the electrical service was suspended, the points began to fail and it was impossible to acquire the telmos.
En cuanto a uniformes, a Cristian se le compraron dos chemise hace como un mes aprovechando una ofertazo de cuatro dólares cada una, pantalón ya tiene y mono para deporte también, los zapatos se los había comprado con anterioridad, así que lo único que le falta es la franela blanca para deporte, el telmo y el bolso. Héctor, por su parte, ya tiene fecha de inscripción, así que estamos a la espera del inicio de clases porque también necesita de uniforme que este sí ya es más costoso, el telmo y el bolso.
As for uniforms, Cristian bought two chemises about a month ago taking advantage of a great offer of four dollars each, he already has pants and overalls for sports, shoes had been bought previously, so the only thing missing is the white flannel for sports, the telmo and the bag. Hector, on the other hand, already has a registration date, so we are waiting for the start of classes because he also needs a uniform, which is more expensive, the telmo and the bag.
Esto es solo el comienzo de las compras, ya cuando reúna más dinero volveremos por lo que falta. Por ahora resolví una gran e importante parte con esto de los útiles, ahora estamos más tranquilos y podemos ir comprando, según tengamos posibilidades. Mis hijos ya están en una edad que comprenden la situación y eso es de gran ayuda aunque no por eso voy a dejar de comprarle sus cosas, quiero que ellos tengan todo lo que necesitan para que no se estresen por nada y se concentren únicamente en los estudios, para el resto estoy yo encargándome y solucionando en la medida de lo posible para generarles protección, estabilidad, seguridad y apoyo.
This is just the beginning of the shopping, and when I gather more money we will come back for what is missing. For now I solved a big and important part with the supplies, now we are calmer and we can go shopping, as we have possibilities. My children are already at an age where they understand the situation and that is a great help, although I am not going to stop buying their things, I want them to have everything they need so they do not stress about anything and concentrate only on their studies, for the rest I am taking care and solving as much as possible to generate protection, stability, security and support.
