Mi hermana tiene una niña de 11 meses, cumplirá 1 año el 10 de enero por lo general ya no se sentía cómoda dándole la teta, a pesar de que mi hijo tomó teta hasta los 8 meses no porque yo quise si no por una gran infección que tuve, tuvieron que darle leche de fórmula ya que los medicamentos no eran compatible con la lactancia. Ella hace una semana atrás comenzó a destetar debido a comentarios de terceros, creo que todas las madres pasamos por eso y más si son primerizas.
My sister has an 11 month old baby girl, she will be 1 year old on January 10, in general she did not feel comfortable breastfeeding her, even though my son was breastfed until he was 8 months old, not because I wanted to but because of a big infection I had, they had to give him formula milk because the medicines were not compatible with breastfeeding. She started weaning a week ago due to third party comments, I think all mothers go through that and even more if they are first time mothers.
Nuestra familia es quien influye siempre mis tías más que todo las mayores, comenzaron a llenarle la cabeza de cosas como por ejemplo; ya la teta no la nutre, eso es pura agua, le dicen hasta que se ve feo estar en la calle dándole la teta tan Grande, entre otras cosas. A pesar que hable con ella para darle mi humilde opinión del destete antes del año, siguió con su proceso.
Our family is the one who always influences my aunts, especially the older ones, began to fill her head with things like; the teat does not nourish her anymore, that is pure water, they even tell her that it looks ugly to be in the street giving her the teat so big, among other things. Even though I talked to her to give her my humble opinion about weaning before the age of one, she continued with her process.
Le recordé cuando mi hija se enfermó a los 15 meses, la cual fue terrible tanto para ella como para mí, no quería tomar ni agua lo que llego a deshidratarse ya que no tenía los beneficios de la leche materna, es por eso que se recomienda por lo menos hasta los dos años. Para nadie es un secreto que comenzar a destetar no es nada fácil y más para una niña que es pegada a su mama, debido a esto ocasionó una gripe de tanto que ha llorado, tienes mocos y hasta fiebre le ha dado, todo por escuchar a terceros.
I remembered when my daughter got sick at 15 months, which was terrible for her and for me, she did not even want to drink water and she became dehydrated because she did not have the benefits of breast milk, that is why it is recommended at least until two years old. It is no secret that starting to wean is not easy and even more so for a child who is attached to her mother, because of this she got the flu from so much crying, snot and even a fever, all because she listened to others.
Sé que cada madre es diferente y hay que respetar sus decisiones, de todas forma eso no lo hace mala madre capaz ya no se siente conforme dando la teta, para mí está es la mejor conexión con el bebé además que puedes ayudarlo con su desarrollo, pero si siente que no puede más solo queda aceptar si decisión apoyarla es este proceso tan duro para las dos.
I know that every mother is different and you have to respect her decisions, anyway that doesn't make her a bad mother, she may not feel comfortable breastfeeding, for me this is the best connection with the baby and you can help him with his development, but if she feels she can't do it anymore, you just have to accept if you decide to support her in this hard process for both of you.
