Hello friends of Hive, I hope you are very well, in this opportunity I am pleased to share with you how has been the education of my son at home, an experience in which we both learn. We know that as parents we have a very big responsibility that includes educating our children, teaching them values and not only that but also setting an example, trying to improve in our weaknesses for them. Doing everything with love, filling ourselves with patience, because sometimes we lose it because of the occurrences, but it is very normal, it has happened to all of us. It seems to me a very important topic because of how essential it should be for our little ones to learn to be educated, to have manners from an early age, according to their age, at home, starting with their family.
One of the most important values is love, since it is the strongest feeling in everyone. We must show them our love for them, so that they can transmit it too, knowing that they are like a little sponge that suppresses everything they see. When there is love things go better, doing them from the heart, a loving child transmits joy and that begins at home, with the treatment of parents and their family.
It is essential to teach our children to be thankful. Since my child developed more speech and understands more I have been teaching him about giving thanks, mainly to God, before eating, giving thanks for the food he allows us to have and that he can bless them. Giving thanks for the family, for the day lived, life, being well, for the teapots, toys, clothes and shoes; Also to give thanks when someone gives him something (like a cookie, etc.) that he can be thankful for everything.
On the other hand is to teach them about sharing, in children it is very normal (especially when they do not have siblings or cousins or do not live with other children at home) to be jealous with their things and do not want to lend them, so we must work on that with our children. In my case, my child has no siblings, he is the only one, but at home we live with my nephew, who is 2 years old, the baby of my sister in law @doriangel they take a year and a half, I can say that they get along well counting the times they argue over toys, laugh and play together, fight and then return to play. Something very normal for children. I have been working with my son to teach him the importance of sharing, some of the tips I have used and want to share with you are:
- Guide them without forcing or pressuring them, neither blackmailing them, you should talk a lot with them about sharing, make them understand that it is nice, that it should be given with joy, setting an example as parents.
- Teach them that things come back as for example a toy.
- When there are more children in the home or you are somewhere and you have some food such as bread, you can encourage them by telling them to share with the other child.
- I like to talk to my child that it is important to share, because it pleases him and makes God happy, otherwise he would be very sad (teach him about our Creator, Heavenly Father who is in heaven, who sees us, watches over us, takes care of us and much more). Maybe they can help you, in our case it has been working, you should tell each other every day, talk a lot and go correcting with love.
Children's patience is very complicated, when they want something they want it immediately and when they don't get it they can get upset, scream, cry intensely and so on. In fact, patience is the most difficult value to teach because of the aforementioned, so you must talk a lot with children, especially when the time comes to wait. One of the techniques that can be used to teach them to have patience and calm the anxieties to get their prize, is demanding them to do something before getting it, that can help a lot.
Another value that should be put into practice is that of respect. It is important that children learn to respect things that do not belong to them such as toys, objects, etc. Also that they should respect physically when they play with other children, avoiding hitting, offenses, shouting, etc. When going out somewhere where there are more children, a park or even to a friend's house, they usually lend them things, toys and so on, but when it is time to leave they take ownership and that is why it is essential to teach them of this value, as with all values as parents we must set an example as it is the main source for their learning and talk to them a lot, for example that things when they are not theirs should be left in their place.
Along with values we must teach manners to our little ones, such as saying please and thank you, greeting, eating with cutlery, sitting properly, not shouting, moderating their tone of voice, helping, being obedient starting at home with small responsibilities. I have been teaching my child those manners and the responsibility of picking up his toys, some things that fall, putting things in their place like his shoes and clothes, brushing, combing his hair, putting on his clothes with my help and shoes, etc.
Thank you for reading, I hope you liked it and that it can be of help for the learning and education of your little ones. Greetings and blessings to all.
