Magandang buhay...
White fog covered the hills, mountains, and even parts of the highway as we drove to Bontoc. But that didn't stop us from snapping pictures, taken mostly within that beautiful town. And here's to share some of them. (Note: These are non-professional takes)
I was almost dozing off when the hubby hit the brake and slowed down making me wonder why. As if he read my thoughts he pointed at the distance and asked, "Don't you want to take pictures of those fields?" My veins were yet to wake up fully but my mind was.
Phone out of the window, camera on and pointing... one... two... click... click... click. The fields looked golden. They must be on the verge of harvesting the rice plants.

The lil guy in the backseat got up and looked out the window (was rolled up due to the rain). He must be curious why we were moving slowly.
Anyway, the hubby sped up again when he noticed the phone was no longer pointing outside. Two minutes later, we were passing by the Bontoc Capitol and there was a bit of traffic so I took the chance to snap some pics of the place's facade, including an interesting mural.

Soon after, we were by the street along the NFA office. Unlike the main road along the capitol building, there were not many vehicles on this side it looked a bit stretchy, especially with the trees lined up almost perfectly in the middle. Some were parked by the roadsides, along with trikes, the main mode of transportation within the locality.
At almost nine in the morning, the fog still hovered above us, blanketing the hills and mountains in the distance we nearly couldn't see them.
As our rendezvous point was just around the place, we needed to find a parking spot and found a space just outside the church nearby. We spent the next three hours in our appointment and by the time we were done, it was already midday and we were starving. The hubby suggested we take the short drive to the northside to view the whole town before we grab lunch.
Why not? So off we went and had these views of the progressing town nestled between mountains. Golden fields were also seen in the distance and below the road. We spent around ten minutes there and drove back.

The succeeding photos were taken while we returned to the heart of town. Below is a glimpse of a State Polytechnic College by the main street.

While we wanted to explore, the weather was not cooperating so we drove along the street for a place to fill our growling tummies. We found a spacious one that didn't say no to dogs and had our $10 meals, complete with hot soup perfect for the dreary day.
We went on our way home from there. Of course, the trip has been added to the memory box which would be nice to revisit someday. We were also in that town in December 2022 and had an enchanting evening in its plaza.
There will be a next time for sure!

I laugh at the part which you said, say no to dogs, I remembered a viral thing right now, anyways it's fun to see that there's a beautiful place like that exist here on Philippines, is Bontoc a part of Luzon? It's new to my dictionary. It has a resemblance of Baguio or Tagaytay, hoping to visit that place soon, if there's a budget.
Hehe, because some places do not allow pets and we have one so :)
Yes, Bontoc is in Luzon. It's close to Sagada (if you have ever heard of the tourist spots - Sagada Cave, Hanging Coffins etc) Hope you get the chance to check them out 😉

Maganda tingnan ang rice fields sis and oo, at least hindi masyadong malakas ang bagyo, safe pa rin mga pananim nila. Yung kalsada lang talaga may mga gumuho
The view of the fields is truly beautiful with a mountain background decorated with mist which adds to the impression of beauty.
It's breathtaking to see although my pics do not give justice to how beautiful they look in person :)
