What is the definition of Love- A Discussion between me and my friend

The weather in Kharkiv city is not good at all, too windy with dust and hard to walk around because I can't tolerate dust at all. I have an allergy so I am not feeling safe going out though I have work outside. After seeing the weather update I waited for a few hours and later I decided to work from home. 50% of work has been done from home but another 50% can't be done from home so I guess I have to finish them tomorrow.

It's so weird to see such kind of weather during fall but the entire situation reminded me about climate change. Anyway, today I was talking with one of my friends who is also from Ukraine and a very naive, polite women. She loves to read books and whenever she finds something interesting, she shares with me. She loves discussion and also wants to know my thoughts as well. She is also very curious to know my cultural background as she never met a girl like me from south Asia.

Today she showed me something interesting and we started talking about it randomly. We often do that whenever we have time because we both are busy and our mentality is so similar as well. She is also an architect so we have a lot of topics to discuss and I also love to talk with her about such topics, it interesting to know other's perspectives as well.

Today's topic was Love and honestly, I don't know the definition of love or maybe I don't the exact meaning of love. All I know love is a feeling, extreme emotion, and part of our life somehow. From my perspective, the definition of love varies from person to person which means love is recognized by actions. We love our mother because we have a natural bonding with our mother. We can't hurt our mother and can't do anything against her because we are connected with a special bonding called unconditional love.

But I feel there is a fine line between like and love and we often fail to differentiate which one is like and which one is love. Sometimes we can't figure out the exact meaning of like and love. Love is more about giving without expecting in return, to understand to show kindness to others. But still, I am confused about it.

I love nature, why? Because I feel good whenever I am close to nature, I feel peace, inspired, and motivated. I can silently interact with my surrounding living things, but it that all? I guess no, instead we should protect our nature, show kindness to the wildlife, stop deforestation, and so on.

A successful relationship depends on love, care, support, understanding, and sacrifice. But my friend was saying showing kindness, humanity, understanding, helpful attitude all define love or various aspects of love. I am not an expert analysis of these things, I am not good at understanding philosophical stuff when it comes to a specific topic like Love. For me, love is complicated and hard to define because I feel the meaning of love varies from person to person. Many people express their love in a different way and opinions can be different too.
