In these unprecedented times, as Ukraine faces new challenges on the frontlines, unmanned surface vehicles, deep-sea missiles, and drones come to the rescue. Ukraine is already equipped to respond to the enemy, but the war continues. Therefore, the country is steadily increasing its own production.
In two and a half years of full-scale war, Russia has fired over 43,000 different types of missiles and munitions at Ukraine. One of the most effective ways to counter this is to destroy the carriers of these weapons—Russian aircraft at military airfields. However, the allies have not yet allowed Ukraine to do this with their weapons.
The Ukrainian government has launched a grant program for private missile projects, invested in state design bureaus, and implemented deregulation to stimulate this industry. And here are the first results: meet the Ukrainian long-range drone missile "Palianytsia."
Almost everything related to this development is classified, but some details are known. Two dozen Russian military airfields are within the range of the drone missile. The entire development was completed phenomenally quickly—in just a year and a half. The motivation is strong: the sooner the "Palianytsia" is ready, the more lives will be protected and the fewer civilians will suffer.
The "Palianytsia" drone missile will be launched from a ground-based platform. Its engine is a turbojet. The cost of the drone missile is significantly lower than its counterparts, and work on reducing costs and increasing production is ongoing.
The mission of the "Palianytsia" is to protect civilians by destroying the enemy's offensive potential on its own territory. This is Ukraine's first long-range drone missile, the "Palianytsia."
