Багато років я їздив на рибалку на річки Дніпро та Десну. Перебуваючи на березі, я спостерігав за рівнем води. То дуже висока вода, то навпаки, дуже мілко. Рівень води, звичайно, впливає на поведінку риби і умови рибалки. Але таку повінь, щоб річки вийшли з берегів, я спостерігав лише один раз. Пам’ятаю, як доводилось буквально долати в брід знайомі дороги, щоб дістатись до улюблених місць рибалки. До деяких локацій дістатись було взагалі неможливо. Також, проїзжаючи повз затоплені будинки вздовж берега, співчував господарям прибережних будинків, які разом з ділянками стояли по коліно в воді. Я тоді розумів, що тим людям було тоді не до рибалки і відпочинку, бо наслідки підтоплення доводилось ліквідовувати ще довгий час.
Дуже прикро, що в цьому році крім війни, багатьом людям доводиться переживати ще й потоп. Триває сезонне підняття рівня води в річках у Волинській, Київській, Рівненській, Черкаській та Чернігівській областях. Близько 500 подвір’їв і городів на даний час залишаються підтопленими. Підтоплено також понад 10 500 га сільгоспугідь.
В цьому році навіть в межах міста Києва Дніпро вийшов з берегів. Очевидці згадують, що останній раз така повінь в Києві була в 1970 році. Тоді внаслідок сильного підйому рівня води у Дніпрі повністю затопило Гідропарк. Окрім того, на Русанівських садах місцеві мешканці були змушені плавати на човниках серед своїх будинків. Також було затоплено Труханів острів. Вода стояла навіть у підземному переході під станцією метро. Її рівень сягнув 96,1 м.
Це природня стихія,але прикро що вона приносять збитки людям. Мусимо або змиритись, або шукати спосіб, як цьому протистояти. Старожили, наприклад, кажуть, що якби не дамба в Вишгороді, то води в Києві в 1970 році було б ще більше. Значить є варіанти, як керувати цими процесами. Сподіваюсь, можновладці врахують ці проблеми при плануванні відбудови держави після війни.

I understood then that those people were not interested in fishing and recreation, because the consequences of flooding had to be eliminated for a long time.
It is very unfortunate that this year, in addition to the war, many people also have to experience a flood. The seasonal rise in the water level in rivers in the Volyn, Kyiv, Rivne, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions continues. About 500 yards and gardens are currently flooded. More than 10,500 hectares of agricultural land were also flooded.
This year, even within the city of Kyiv, the Dnipro overflowed its banks. Eyewitnesses recall that the last time such a flood occurred in Kyiv was in 1970. Then, as a result of a strong rise in the water level in the Dnipro, the Hydropark was completely flooded. In addition, in the Rusaniv Gardens, local residents were forced to swim in boats among their houses. Trukhaniv Island was also flooded. Water even stood in the underground passage under the metro station. Its level reached 96.1 m.
It is a natural element, but it is unfortunate that it causes damage to people. We must either accept it or find a way to resist it. Old-timers, for example, say that if it were not for the dam in Vyshhorod, there would have been even more water in Kyiv in 1970. So there are options on how to manage these processes. I hope that those in power will take these problems into account when planning the reconstruction of the state after the war.
