This male Convict cichlid was one of my favorites.These fish come from lakes and streams in this region with a moderate amount of current. Their natural habitat has plenty of wood and rocks for them to use as a place to hide in between feeding. Convict cichlids are omnivores and aren’t picky when it comes to finding food!
They are prolific breeders. Many say they breed as much and as quickly as guppies. They live for a relatively long time when properly cared for.
A friend still has a Convict that was one of the many babies this guy was responsible for.
