What does it take to be a Stand-up comedian in the Philippines? In this video I want to share my experience, being a new open-micer, the grind I have to do to hone my skills, and my material hoping to become one of the best comedians in Manila!
In the video, I travel 2-3 hours to the comedy bar, and since there's a weekly advance sign-up to be included for the performers for the night, I am taking my chances here.
Since @jude.villarta was in town, I had to show up to ask if they could watch me perform! Unfortunately, 20+ comedians will be performing for the night and I can only be included in the post-show.
I met with @demotry @kneelyrac @bananzell sadly the post-show was going to be super late, and they had to leave early, and weren't able to finish with the headliner for the night. But I hope they enjoyed watching most of the comedians besides me. :D
Anyway, in the video I did my 3-minute set in front of other fellow comedians, empty chairs, empty beer bottles, and ghost for the post-show. :D
The comedy club in the video is Mow's bar in Matalino Street in Quezon City, and if you happen to be in Manila wanting to watch some comedy show, it's happening every Tuesday night and other time in a week different indie band is performing!
