30 DAY CHALLENGE: My 5 current goals (Day 8)

in Blogging Challenge4 years ago

I find it important for myself to set goals every year. I reflect on myself at the end of the year and I then sometimes check off my goals, or I try to find ways to reach my goals more efficiently. For this year I had the following goals (which some of them I have already reached):

Work on that dream shredded body
I already had a shredded body, but then I started to get attached to sweets again and I had troubles staying away from late night snacks (especially during study hours). And yes.. I have tried to eat healthy stuff during my study hours, but it's just not helping me (that's a personal thing). That's why I have put down a goal for myself to do home-workouts every single day for a minimum time of 30 minutes. This keeps my heart racing and my mind in place. I workout mostly for my mindset, because I find that you can think more freely when you have done a workout. I used to go to the gym a lot, but because of Corona the gyms have been closed for quite some months now. Nonetheless I can't give up on that dream body and I will keep on working out every single day, while trying to maintain a "normal" food routine. (Maybe ill have a blog about what I am eating every day, because I LOVE FOOD--> But that's for another blog).

Create a community for people where they can talk and learn about finance
My goal for this year was to create a community where people can come together to talk about finance. In my home country there is this sense that talking about finance and money is something bad... but it really isn't. People should have the ability to make their own financial decisions without having to fall for every single scam that is being presented in Suriname. I want to avoid that people join things like: OneCoin, Wallet, "get quick rich things" etc. I want to help (especially younger people) understand what they can do with their money to make it work for them and how they can start doing this. So many people are still focused on the "get rich quick" mentality that they will never be able to become a real investor if they keep at it like this. That's why I created a group on Discord, which I want to expand towards a website and other social media platforms as well (even Hive). The hardest part about having to create a community is that it takes up a lot of your time. But helping others is what gives me satisfaction, so I will keep on doing my best to provide content that's worthy of their time.

Read one book every month
This is one of my most basic goals that I set every year so that I keep myself accountable to this. This is actually one of the most important things to me, because thanks to reading I can suck up even more knowledge which I can test and implement in my daily life. Between you and me... I have learned more from reading 4-6 books than I have from going to school my whole life (and no that's not a joke at all). Reading books and combining that with actually practicing what is written in the books is some of the most underrated things that people know about. If someone would ask me what my advice would be on starting with something that can change their life: "Pick up a book that goes about your mindset or about finance and starting reading and implementing what you have read". I know this may sound like the "basic book" but start with "rich dad poor dad" and with "the compound effect". These books are pretty strong and they help you to understand that being 1% better everyday than the day you were before adds up on your lifespan!

Setting up businesses which will eventually run themselves
I am working on setting up businesses in different fields that can sustain themselves in the future. I like to set up businesses that help people by giving them knowledge through the businesses. At the end of this year I want to have a self running:

  • online store (dropshipping/e-commerce)
  • Financial consultancy company
  • Digital Marketing Agency
  • An online platform with seminars and access to private content.
  • An exchange for Suriname to be able to trade upon.

Finish off my study so that I can fully focus on my future
I would just like to finish my study so that I have my bachelor and people around me can stop asking me how "school is going". It's so annoying to have to hear that for so many years now. It keeps reminding me of how fixated and stuck we are as human beings from thinking outside the box! No one ever asks how business is doing, or how your health is doing or how your self education on different subjects is doing or how the book was that you were reading about a few weeks ago. We as humans are so fixated on what's OLD and what doesn't work anymore, we know it doesn't work anymore in the real world and still we are SOOO FOCUSED ON IT.

but oh well that was a small rant about the study. Talk to you guys and girls in the next post!
