Amazing! Enough said. Even with take out, the food was excellent. Came here on Sunday evening and had to wait because they ran out of beef (seriously, they sold out and the next two racks weren't quite ready) but it was worth the wait. Pre-COVID, it was near impossible to get a reservations here as they're booked out months in advance, so the hour long wait seem quick.
Everything is packaged in separate containers and even with the hour long drive home, most of the food was warm (the Yorkshire Pudding and bread, I stuck in an oven toaster for about 10 minutes and the microwave took care of the cream spinach). It did take a few minutes to unbox everything and set it up. Although the Prime Rib was still warm, I did stick it in a toaster oven at 350 for about five minutes, and I warmed up the Au Ju in a sauce pan.
Their signature salad and dressing is the best you can have. Perfect blend of fresh crisp salad with beets and other good stuff, and a healthy portion of their salad dressing that many have tried to copy unsuccessfully.
Their Prime Rib seasoning is always spot on and works naked, but the Au Jus sauce gives it a different savory personality to the beef and the horseradish dip give a refreshing after taste for your palate. The Yorkshire Pudding, I like mine more on the crunchy side and dip it in the Au Jus like a French Dip Sandwich.
Compared to other steak house that cost upwards of $40 for a la carte, $50 for the House Cut it's what I consider a bargain considering the meal includes a huge potato (and generous fixings including bacon, sour cream chives, etc.) cream spinach, Yorkshire pudding, and their signature salad and salad dressing. For the Prime Rib, they also give you Au Jus, horseradish, and a few other dipping's that I didn't try.
Although you'll miss out on the in house dining experience, to me their food is just as good as the take out. It feels strange how an iconic restaurant can be so empty but selfishly I am happy because I will gladly wait an hour or two for take out, compared to months for in person dining.
