Olá e bem vindos a mais uma publicação num dos minhas comunidades favoritas... Infelizmente deverá ser se não o último, um das minhas últimas contribuições para esta comunidade. Como todos vocês sabem, pela publicação recente (https://peakd.com/hive-163772/@pinmapple/the-end-of-the-road-were-closing-down-hive-163772). Mas temos que aproveitar e partilhar conteúdo com os amantes da viagem e das descobertas. Nem que sejam umas bem humildes, e muito perto das nossas rotinas diárias.
Hoje, quero aqui partilhar um pequeno conjunto de fotografias de um local bem perto de mim. O parque urbano Felício Loureiro. Localizado na vila de Queluz, bem perto do extremo norte do Palácio Nacional de Queluz, apresentam a quem o visita uns extraordinários 10 hectares de relvado com árvores e arbustos, que acompanham o curso do Rio Jamor.
Dotado de equipamento que permite fazer várias actividades lúdicas, recreativas e mesmo desportivas, ergue-se este singelo cantinho de verde na emblemática e bem visitada vila de Queluz.
Todas as faixas etárias são convidados a visitar este lugar. Tem um parque infantil, equipamento de fitness (que eu acabei por não o visitar), e um parque de merendas com bastante pinheiros e algumas árvores de fruto, que tive oportunidade de as ver já vestidas com os seus imponentes e coloridos vestidos cheios de fragrância!
Por entre Rosas do Damasco, ou pelas duas cerejeiras que se apresentavam tão bonitas, e não esquecendo as amendoeiras, com as suas flores delicadas e perfume singelo. Um simples passeio que fiz com a minha mãe, numa tarde de um Domingo. Depois de termos ido a uma das pastelarias conhecidas pelos seus deliciosos pasteis de nata, a Marianita, descemos a pé pela rua, e depois de passar por baixo dos arcos que constituem o Aqueduto da Gargantada, e após passar a passadeira, entramos logo no jardim... Amplo! E somos logo presenteados com as Rosas do Dasmasco, hibridização bem conseguida. Não o sabia, e até pensei que pudesse ser uma camélia, mas pelo que percebi pelo Google Lens é mesmo uma hibridização de duas variedades de rosa.
Ainda tivemos oportunidade de ver alguns grupos de famílias e amigos a aproveitarem uma tarde solarenga, mas um pouco ventosa, para partilharem uma refeição e a companhia uns dos outros.
Fiquei a saber que no Rio Jamor existe uma espécie de peixe de água doce que não existe em mais nenhum lado do globo!!! Impressionante este factóide! A boga do Rio (Pseudochondrostoma polylepis) encontra-se na Península Ibérica, e popula os cursos de água de Portugal e Espanha.
Passamos por um ringue multidesportivo, que naquela altura estava a ser usado para uma partida de futebol de 5.
Depois de atravessar de novo o rio, fomos até à outra extremidade do parque, e passamos a estrada para o jardim mais perto das cavalariças.
Ainda tivemos oportunidade de ver uma venda de gelados caseiros na rua! Já não via destes vendedores desde a minha infância. Com a concorrência dos gelados comerciais, ou os gelados tradicionais, mas em estabelecimentos comerciais, ver estes vendedores é uma verdadeira viagem no tempo para mim.
Quantos de vocês compravam gelados de cone nestes vendedores?
Que saudades...
E depois de um agradável passeio, estava na hora de regressar a casa. Com uma certeza, um parque urbano é talvez das obras públicas que mais devolve às populações. Devolve em bem estar, e em saúde que é promovida por actividade ao ar livre, nem que seja apenas um passeio tranquilo de Domingo!
Hello and welcome to another post in one of my favorite communities... Unfortunately, it will probably be one of my last contributions to this community, if not my last. As you all know from the recent post (https://peakd.com/hive-163772/@pinmapple/the-end-of-the-road-were-closing-down-hive-163772). But we have to make the most of it and share content with lovers of travel and discovery. Even if it's a humble one, very close to our daily routines.
Today, I want to share a small set of photos from a place very close to me. The Felício Loureiro urban park. Located in the town of Queluz, very close to the northern end of the National Palace of Queluz, it offers visitors an extraordinary 10 hectares of lawn with trees and shrubs that follow the course of the River Jamor.
Equipped with equipment for various leisure, recreational and even sporting activities, this simple corner of green stands out in the emblematic and well-visited town of Queluz.
All age groups are invited to visit this place. It has a children's playground, fitness equipment (which I ended up not visiting), and a picnic area with plenty of pine trees and some fruit trees, which I had the opportunity to see already dressed in their imposing and colorful dresses full of fragrance!
Among the Damascus Roses, or the two cherry trees that looked so beautiful, and not forgetting the almond trees, with their delicate flowers and simple perfume. A simple walk I took with my mother on a Sunday afternoon. After going to one of the pastry shops known for its delicious custard tarts, Marianita, we walked down the street, and after passing under the arches that make up the Gargantada Aqueduct, and after crossing the footbridge, we entered the garden... Spacious! And we're immediately presented with the Dasmasco Roses, a very successful hybridization. I didn't know it, and I even thought it might be a camellia, but from what I saw on Google Lens, it's actually a hybridization of two varieties of rose.
We also had the chance to see some groups of families and friends taking advantage of a sunny but slightly windy afternoon to share a meal and each other's company.
I learned that the Jamor River is home to a species of freshwater fish that exists nowhere else on the globe!!! Impressive factoid! The river boga (Pseudochondrostoma polylepis) is found in the Iberian Peninsula, and populates the waterways of Portugal and Spain.
We passed a multi-sports rink, which at the time was being used for a 5-a-side soccer match.
After crossing the river again, we went to the other end of the park and crossed the road to the garden closer to the stables.
We even had the chance to see a sale of homemade ice cream in the street! I hadn't seen these vendors since my childhood. With the competition from commercial ice creams, or traditional ice creams but in stores, seeing these vendors is a real trip back in time for me.
How many of you used to buy ice cream cones from these vendors?
I miss them...
And after a pleasant stroll, it was time to go home. One thing's for sure: an urban park is perhaps one of the public works that gives the most back to the people. It gives back in well-being, and in the health that is promoted by outdoor activity, even if it's just a quiet Sunday stroll!

Very nice walk... but reading your post, I learned about the closing of pinmaple... really sad, it was a really cool addition to the Hive universe. Too bad we're losing that part 😢 but thankfully your beautiful photos cheered me up.

Yes, indeed a very sad news... It is in parallel with the #StreetArt community one of my favorite... Let's hope that some new community "takes place" in Hive space, with the travel theme in the main focus.
