The El Danto lagoon is a well-known area for locals and that anyone should visit when they go to the La Llovizna park from Venezuela for the first time. Its "El Danto" hat refers to an animal that was typical in the area, although I don't know if any of those species still exist today, and I also don't know why the lagoon was called that way. But without a doubt this lagoon is one of the first attractions that you should visit before continuing the tour of the park until you reach the waterfalls.

In addition to the simple fact of being a place where everyone makes a worthy stop, these waters preserve a large number of species of fish that visitors usually appreciate and give them a little food. That is the importance of preserving these species that still survive in these places because in this way the balance of the ecosystem of the place is maintained.

For me, being in this place is spending a moment to relax, appreciate the landscape and take some photographs, both of all its great vegetation and its waters that connect with the entire system of rivers and waterfalls in the park. Also in this lagoon you can see the famous steps that go through the river, making connections between several islands in the park, although you always have to be very careful when paying for these steps and not getting distracted along the way.

On the other hand, the attraction for many people of this lagoon is that they can practice kayaking, where there is a team that is in charge of providing this service, either giving guided tours throughout the lagoon or even giving classes on this practice. These are some of the activities that can be done in the lagoon. A bit of sharing with your family or friends, practicing kayaking or simply admiring the landscape and all its surroundings in its maximum splendor.

The El Danto lagoon is located a few meters from the entrance of the park, it is the first stop that any visitor should make when going to tour the park, having in turn several entrances or paths that make connections with the entire park. Also in its vicinity there are certain stores that sell food or also traditional crafts from the area.

During this tour I spent some time taking some photos, as well as appreciating all the vegetation around the lagoon, which brings back memories of my childhood when I used to come with my family and at that time one would get on small boats that one had to pedal around the lake, but on this occasion I did not see those small boats, perhaps because they no longer provide those services nowadays, but it would have been very fun to have that experience with my wife, although the next visit we might go kayaking on this lake, so that we can do a different activity that is related to this beautiful park that I have never tired of visiting, as well as every time I find new places that I did not know before.

All photographs are my own.
